Man Murders Wife, Then Flees With House Girl





Police in Kisumu, Kenya are looking for a middle aged man and house help as suspect in a murder case involving a dead woman. The woman was killed using a blunt object following a domestic row at Oboch market in Nyalenda. A witness said that they were called by the woman’s house help who had found the woman unconscious. The house help informed them that the couple had a fight at about 5 a.m. before the woman’s husband left.

Five Siblings Burnt Alive In Lagos After Parents Locked Them Inside The House





Five children between the ages of 4 and 12 were killed in an inferno in the Kirikiri area of Lagos State on Thursday. It was learnt that the five children, Emeka 12, Ifeanyi 10, Chinasa eight, Joy six, and Bright four, who are of the same parents, were burnt alive at their home located at 29 Comfort Oboh Street, Kirikiri.
The parents of the victims were identified as Ogbonna and Margaret Igwuagwu. Our correspondent learnt that although over 30 people live in the compound, which was completely consumed by the fire, only the five children died.

36-Year-Old Graduate Missing After Receiving ₦500,000





The family members and friends of one Miss Tanwa Serifat Sanni, a 36-year-old lady, have been in great distress since her sudden disappearance on Friday October 12, 2012.
It was gathered that Serifat, a graduate of Business Administration, Lagos State University (LASU),on that fateful day left her residence at No 116 Ezeagwu Street, Ojo Road, by Alao Bus-stop, Ajegunle, around 5am without disclosing to anybody where she was going to. Prior to her disappearance, Serifat was given N500,000 (cash) by her parents to start up a business of her own since she couldn’t gain a meaningful employment 11 years after her graduation.

Eulogies have been pouring in for the late governor of Kaduna state, Patrick Yakowa who died in a helicopter crash in Bayelsa on Saturday.The wife of the late governor, Amina Yakowa who addressed sympathizers in Kaduna, narrated her last moments with her late husband whom she described as very “caring and loving”. She said “We were all looking forward to the 23rd of December when we will 34 years”. Mrs Yakowa was speaking at a Eucharistic Mass held for the repose of the late governor’s soul at the Chaplaincy inside the Government House.

A man simply identified as Iku Monday by residents of Sabo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, is still being quizzed by the police for allegedly beheading dead woman (names withheld) after exhuming her corpse from a grave in her husband’s building site.

Checks by Sunday Sun revealed that on August 18 this year, Mr. Abiodun, husband of Monday’s victim, contracted Monday to clear a plot of land belonging to him on the outskirts of Sabo for a fee.
On the site was a grave of his (Abiodun’s) second wife, who died recently of complications following delivery of her baby. Sunday Sun also authoritatively gathered that trouble started when a resident simply identified as Mr. Akpan allegedly spotted Iku Monday while exhuming and beheading the corpse of the dead woman. Akpan then raised the alarm, alerting the neighbourhood of the dastardly act by Monday and in no time a crowd gathered to ‘arrest’ Monday.

“I am happy that I came,” the Late Yakowa had told Mr Douglas after paying tributes to and sympathising with the family of Pa Tamunobibara Douglas. After greeting their host, both Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi took a walk away from the crowd to where the ill-fated Helicopter was stationed, ready to travel back to Port Harcourt. Little did both men know that in few hours Nigerians will be sympathising and condoling with their families as well.

Crashed Dana Plane Ran Out Of Fuel – Pilot (Video)




A pilot and aviation expert, Benson Ikponwosa on Monday said the only plausible explanation to the recent Dana plane crash could be shortage of fuel. Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Ikponwosa said a plane that left Abuja with its two engines intact could not have lost both engines if aircraft had adequate supply of fuel. A Dana Airline plane, flight MD83 had in June crashed into two buildings at the Agege area of Lagos State killing all 153 passengers and crew on aboard.

Navy Recovers Yakowa, Azazi’s Bodies, Four Others





The Nigerian Navy disclosed, Sunday, that its search and rescue efforts, after the Dec 15 helicopter crash in Okoloba community, has led to the recovery of six bodies of the victims of the crash, saying that the bodies have been deposited at the Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
It said with the recovery, the Navy has commenced investigation into the cause of the accident.
The  statement by the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Kabiru Aliyu reads, “The Nigerian Navy wishes to confirm that search and rescue effort has led to the recovery of all the 4 passengers and the 2 pilots on board its helicopter NN 07 which crashed on 15 December 2012”. “The bodies of the victims have been recovered from the scene of the incident and the crash site has been duly secured to allow for detailed investigation.

A séx romp at a public park helped prosecutors convict a California woman of faking an ankle injury to collect workers’ compensation payments, authorities said. Modupe Adunni Martin, 29, was sentenced to nine months in jail on Thursday in San Mateo County after pleading no contest in October to felony workers compensation fraud.Martin was caught on videotape in August 2009 throwing her crutches into a car and running in high heels to meet her boyfriend at a public park, where she took part in a séx act that doctors concluded she couldn’t have done with an injured ankle, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

Sullivan Chime Not Dead – Enugu Government





The Enugu State government Sunday, debunked the rumours making the round that governor Sullivan Chime has passed away. Chime was reported to have passed on at an Indian hospital on Saturday, after battling an undisclosed ailment for some months.

General Azazi’s Last Moment





IT was just a few minutes to 13.00 hours and the service of songs was in session when our chartered Caverton helicopter landed in ancient breezy coastal community of Okoroba, hometown of Mr. Oronto Douglas, a senior aide to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. I had flown with my Uncle, Engr. Mayne David-West, Principal Consultant of Pearl Consultants, and George Kerley, Coordinator of The Jonathan Project and an unrepentant crusader of the president. We proceeded directly to the venue of the Service of Songs. It was a ten minutes walk from the school field where the helicopter had landed, and it offered an opportunity to see the sprawling ancient community and the new developments taking place. The people were very happy.

Azazi, Yakowa Tragedy: Crashed Navy Helicopter Had ‘Engine Failure’ After 10 Trips





The Nigeria navy executive Agusta 109E helicopter, which crashed yesterday killing Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa, former NSA Andrew Owoye Azazi and four others, had engine failure, naval sources have said. SaharaReporters learned that the pilot of the helicopter communicated with the control tower in Port Harcourt to report the problem before it crashed to the ground and caught fire. The chopper belonged to the Nigeria navy, but it had been placed at the exclusive service of the president in the Niger Delta region.
The navy has had three Agusta 109E helicopters.  In 2007, one of them crashed due to bad weather as it approached the Owerri airport in the night, accompanying INEC election materials. Four persons died in the crash.  The other two, NN07 and NN08, which actively worked the Bayelsa airspace yesterday, were commissioned in 2009.
