Missing couple found in SSS cell in Ogun.




Sixty-five days after they were declared missing, Islamic Cleric, Uztadh Abdul Ganniyu Jumah and his wife, Muinat, were found in the cell of the State Security Service, SSS, Abeokuta.

It would be recalled that .PM NEWS. reported that an Islamic Cleric and his wife were abducted by unknown gunmen at their residence located at 27, Fagbemi street, Ijoko, in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the State.

3 of Yinka Ayefele's band boys missing in the US



Gospel music styled secular singer, Yinka Ayefele left Nigeria on September 2nd with a 14-man band for a six-week musical tour of the US, which took them to New York, Washington, Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, Maryland and Dallas. He returned to Nigeria this week with three band members missing. The three missing men based on a petition filed by Ayefele are:
1. The lead vocalist of Ayefele's Merry-Makers Band, Solomon Motimoke popularly called ‘Yatty'who dumped the band while they certainly were in Washington DC on 11th October.
2. Ojoyido Adegbenga Ezekiel (Keyboardist), who disappeared at the band's hotel at Howard Johnson Inn on Rockaway Boulevard, New York on Tuesday, 15th October
3. Olusola Kayode Isaac (vocalist), who disappeared at the La-Guardiala Airport, New York on Monday, 14th October on his way from Houston.
Yinke Ayefele has written to the US Homeland Security, asking them to track and deport these men.

Missing Woman Lawyer Discovered dead, Mutililated In Her Chambers



 Authorities in Abuja are examining the suspected killer of a lady lawyer, Mrs. Ijeoma Micah, whose lifeless body was discovered mutilated, yesterday, in her chambers in the highbrow Maitama part of Abuja. Ijeoma, who owns Micah and Micah Chambers, was discovered dead in her company three times after she was claimed to have gone missing. Her husband, who it had been discovered, arrived from London on Wednesday morning, hurried to her company, because it was gathered that he hadn't heard from her for couple of days , only to find her lifeless body.

26 souls lost, 215 missing in Philippine ferry disaster




CEBU (AFP) – Philippine rescuers searched Saturday for more than 200 people missing after a crowded ferry collided with a cargo ship and sank almost instantly in thick darkness, with 26 already confirmed dead.

The St Thomas Aquinas ferry was carrying 870 passengers and crew when the accident occurred late on Friday night in a dangerous choke point near the port of Cebu, the Philippines’ second biggest city, authorities said.

Missing Woman Found 10 Years Later, Dead In Son’s Cupboard



The Imo State Police Command has recovered the body of a 78-year-old woman, Mrs. Lucy Osigweh, who was declared missing in 2003. 

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, disclosed yesterday that the woman’s lifeless body was found in a large cupboard inside a shrine located in her son’s private room. 

“The missing woman’s lifeless body was found in a village called Ezuru Umuagwu, Ejemekwuru, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State,” Katsina said.

5 Injured As Soldiers, Civilians Clash Over Missing Cows





The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the death of a 13- year old boy who allegedly committed suicide when asked to go and read his books.
Speaking yesterday in Ibadan, police spokesperson, Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, a deputy superintendent of police, said the boy (name withheld), hung himself on March 31 at about 6.15 p.m.
Clet-Ilobanafor said that one Bamigboje Zachaus of E7/854, Aiyekale Agugu area of Ibadan, reported the incident to the police.

Missing person cases skyrocket on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway



With cases of kidnapping, rape and murder rising on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,MOTUNRAYO ABODERIN narrates victims’ ordeal on the highway
Textile merchant, John Eze, returned from a social engagement with his family on the night of the last Eid–el–Kabir and was opening the gate to his house in Surulere, Lagos State, when three gunmen suddenly appeared and ordered him back into his Infiniti Jeep.
They drove him off in the car after his wife and three kids were allowed to leave. About five hours after the kidnap, Eze was brought back to the house by a taxi driver who picked him up on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway naked.
Narrating his ordeal, the father of three, said through the  conversation of his kidnappers, he realised that the expressway was their escape route.

House Committee Orders Arrest Of 3 Top NNPC Staff Over Missing Funds Running Into Billions Of Dollar



House of Representatives Committee on Public Account has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, to arrest and bring before the committee, the Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Engineer Andrew Yakubu, the Executive secretary, Petroleum Products Price regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Mr Reginald Stanley, and the Director Department of Petroleum Resources, Mr Augustine Olorunsola.
This is as a result the refusal of the trio to appear before the committee to defend the multi-billion dollar Auditor-General of the Federation query dated back to 2007. The IGP has therefore been given an ultimatum to ensure that the three individuals were brought before the committee in person by 1.00pm today.

House Of Reps Query CBN, FIRS,NCS Over Missing N7.9bn



The House of Representatives on Monday uncovered a N7.935bn discrepancy in the remittance of revenue generated by the Nigeria Customs Service to the Federation Account in 2007.
A report of the House Committee on Public Accounts indicated that Customs generated and remitted N233.430bn to the Federation Account during the year, but found out that only N241.366bn was released to the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee for sharing between the three tiers of government.
This left a difference of N7.9bn, which the committee said was not accounted for.
The committee queried the Central Bank of Nigeria, the NCS and the Federal Inland Revenue Service about the development. It directed them to explain what led to the discrepancy.

Woman Missing After Church Vigil At Mowe, Ogun State





The family of a 33-year-old woman, Folashade Odumola, has expressed worry over her whereabouts seven days after attending the monthly Holy Ghost Service at the Redeemed Camp organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God at Mowe, Ogun State.
Odumola was last seen by her family when she left her Egbeda home at about 1pm to see some customers at Isolo before heading for the sevice.

BONES: Two Missing Children Found Dead, Decomposing In Ketu



Two dead bodies identified as those of Toheeb Adedokun and Falilu Tajudeen, both three years old, who disappeared from their parents’ house located at 18 Taike Street, Ketu on January 25, 2013 have been found in Ketu.
The bodies were found following report by two staff of the Ketu branch of a micro finance bank, Police sources revealed.
The bodies of the children were in their decomposing state, reports say. However, the circumstances surrounding their death could not be ascertained.

Ketu, Lagos: Two Missing Kids Suffocated Inside a Vehicle




Ketu area of Lagos State was thrown into confusion after the shocking discovery of the corpses of two toddlers, Toheeb Adedokun and Tajudeen Falilu, who disappeared in January.
The missing children were suspected to have been kidnapped when all efforts to locate them proved abortive.
However, the corpses of the children were found in an abandoned vehicle, two houses away from their parents' home on Taike Street.

Missing engineer, Akanbi Oluwatoyin, found dead in Ifo, Ogun State




A week after oil engineer Akanbi Oluwatoyin was declared missing by his family, he has been found dead in Ifo Ogun State according to a family member.   Akanbi and his silver 2008 Highlander with plate no: SMK975AS went missing around 5:30am on Monday February 18th on his way to work. His corpse was found in Ifo yesterday by the police but his car was not found. Akanbi worked with an oil company in Lekki and had to no business in Ogun State on that fateful day, so friends believe he was driven there and killed.  The police are currently investigating his death. So sad. Rest in peace, Amen.

Mom grieves for son who got missing 10 years ago “I’m hopeful I will see him again”



The Dickson family have been in a depressed state since their son went missing 10 years ago. However, they are still hopeful that he will be found writes MOTUNRAYO ABODERIN
It’s been 10 years since Mrs. Florence Dickson last saw her son, Felix. However, the memory seems like yesterday.
“It feels as if I saw him yesterday. Ten years seem like just a day to me,” she said.
Dickson, who found it hard to express her pain in words, said her only desire was to see her son again. Felix was 34 years old when he was declared missing.

Missing American mother of two found dead in Turkey



A New York City woman who went missing while vacationing alone in Istanbul was found dead yesterday Saturday February 2nd, and police were questioning 11 people in connection with the case, Turkey's state-run news agency said.
Sarai Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, was last heard from on Jan. 21, the day she was to fly home. Her disappearance attracted a lot of interest in Turkey, where the disappearance of tourists is rare, andIstanbul police had set up a special unit to find her.
 
The state-run Anadolu Agency said the body of a woman was discovered Saturday evening near the remnants of ancient city walls and that police later identified it as Sierra's.

36-Year-Old Graduate Missing After Receiving ₦500,000





The family members and friends of one Miss Tanwa Serifat Sanni, a 36-year-old lady, have been in great distress since her sudden disappearance on Friday October 12, 2012.
It was gathered that Serifat, a graduate of Business Administration, Lagos State University (LASU),on that fateful day left her residence at No 116 Ezeagwu Street, Ojo Road, by Alao Bus-stop, Ajegunle, around 5am without disclosing to anybody where she was going to. Prior to her disappearance, Serifat was given N500,000 (cash) by her parents to start up a business of her own since she couldn’t gain a meaningful employment 11 years after her graduation.

Engr. Lanre Fashesin still missing





Mr. Lanre Fashesin has not been heard from in the last 3 months after he was kidnapped at a site in Edo State. The family had up until now made frantic efforts to secure his release to no avail. The Police also claim to have hit a dead end and seem to have become clueless as to how else to find the kidnapped engineer. Mr. Fashesin was working at the site where he was kidnapped as a contractor for Dextron Engineering Limited based in Lagos.

Mint Scandal: N2.1 Billion Worth Of N1,000 Notes Missing




The board of directors of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) met yesterday over the scandal that rocked the establishment where it was revealed that a whopping N2.1 billion of newly printed N1,000 notes have mysteriously gone missing.

The board meeting, chaired by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, decided to expand the investigation and audit the production of other currency denominations to ascertain the quantity of money that has actually gone missing over the years. LEADERSHIP had exclusively reported that an acting managing director, Ahmed Bamali, had been appointed to head the Mint company while Ehi Okomoyon, who was the chief executive, was asked to proceed on indefinite leave.
