Part 1: Ojukwu’s Secret Daughter Traced She lives in Kaduna
Part 2: Ojukwu’s Secret Daughter Traced She lives in Kaduna
The secret daughter ex-Biafran leader left behind was brought up by a prominent Muslim family in Kaduna. She lives among the Northern elite and detests any suggestion that links her with the former warlord. This is the extraordinary story of Ojukwu’s mystery daughter.
Even in death Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Nigeria’s best known rebel leader, seems to have retained his ability to shock. The revelation that he had a secret daughter — to whom he allocated, in his will, one of his landed properties — shocked even the other members of his family. But perhaps more shocking is the discovery — through Sunday Trust investigation — that the daughter was actually brought up by a prominent Northern Muslim as his own “child”.
Tenny Hamman, as Ojukwu called her, was raised in Kaduna by former Deputy Inspector General of Police Hamman Maiduguri as his own “daughter”. Although she was formally named Aisha (the name she used in school), she is also called Tani (or Aunty Tani by younger relatives). Tani is a traditional Hausa name given to a female born on Monday. Apparently the name Tenny (or Tenni) that Ojukwu called her is the corrupted version of Tani.
Late Hamman Maiduguri was a top police officer who spent a significant part of his life in Kaduna. He hailed from the north-eastern city of Maiduguri, Borno State capital. He was appointed Northern Region’s commissioner of police after the death of the region’s Premier Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto. He later became the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) during the regime of General Yakubu Gowon, the man who led the crushing of Ojukwu’s Republic of Biafra.
Mystery child
The story of how Hamman Maiduguri became “the father” of Ojukwu’s daughter appears to be as mysterious to even a section of his own family as it is to the other members of Ojukwu’s family.
Much of it is still shrouded in deep secrecy but Sunday Trust investigation reveals that the late police officer did raise Tenny as his own daughter.
There are conflicting versions of how she came to be late Hamman’s daughter. Some sources told Sunday Trust that she was the daughter of his wife, Mary Theresa (a Christian who later converted to Islam and is now called Inna or simply Hajia); others said Tenny was a daughter of Mary Theresa’s sister and that the family adopted her as their own.
One of the sources said Tenny’s mother gave birth to her before she married Hamman. “He accepted her with her baby and since then she has been bearing the name Tenny Hamman,” he said.
Whichever version is accurate, most sources said she was indeed brought up like a biological daughter of Hamman. Many residents of the area still believe that she is Hamman’s biological daughter. One source said she was among the people who inherited what he left behind when he died.
“It will be very difficult for you to unravel her true story because many knew her as Hamman’s biological daughter,” said the source. “She inherited part of his properties. This story you are trying to open is seen by some as mere tale because they grew up and know her as one of Hamman’s children,” he added.

“I will call the police”
Indeed, due to the cloud of secrecy surrounding the whole issue, details are hard to come by. When a hint of the story began to emerge following the announcement of Ojukwu’s will, the family mounted a formidable firewall to block any leakage from any possible source. Sunday Trust’s investigation was blocked from many angles and some of its staffers were even threatened with arrest and litigation.
When the leak first came that the woman Ojukwu spoke of as his daughter was a lady living in Kaduna, Sunday Trust search team spent considerable time trying to locate her.

Nigerian Accent Is The 5th Sexiest In The World - CNN
In the unending pursuit of love, or its less eternal surrogate, the right accent can be as attractive as bright eyes, a beaming smile and a parabolic backside. For world travelers, a far-flung tongue promises the unknown, confirms the known and dispels the thought-we-knew.
But no accent is sexy when it’s strong enough to crush a beer can. Which means not all accents are created equal. It’s estimated that there are nearly 7,000 languages on earth. That’s nearly 7,000 different ways to traipse clumsily through the English language or to sex it up like a Justin Timberlake song wrapped in chocolate cleavage.
Jaji bomb attack: Army arrests 16 more soldiers
Source: Punch
Military authorities have arrested 16 more soldiers in connection with the November 25 twin bombing of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Some high-ranking officers were among the freshly arrested soldiers.
Also being detained in connection with the terror attacks are four civilians, including three residents of the Jaji cantonment and one outsider.
SUNDAY PUNCH investigations showed that a senior non-commission officer in the barracks was among those arrested.
A highly-placed official in the army confirmed this to our reporter in Abuja on Friday.
The source, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter said, “Apart from the first 10 arrests we made, there is an additional 16. Investigations continue on the matter.”
When our correspondent contacted the Director of Defence Information, Col. Mohammed Yerima, he said it was the army that could speak on it.
However, the Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Infantry Corps and Centre, Major E.M. Adeniyi, said he was not aware of the development.
Adeniyi, said, “What you are saying is still new to me. I don’t know this one you are talking about.
“Today (Friday) we had the graduation of some of our men: There were young officers’ corps, company commanders’ corps, commanding officers corps, senior infantry non-commissioned officers’ corps, and the infantry non-commissioned officers’ corp. In all, about 260 people graduated from the tactics wing of the Nigerian Army School of infantry.
“We also had 10 participants from Central African Republic.”
The Director of Military Intelligence, Maj. Gen Ahmed Jibril, said on Thursday that the military was holding some people in connection with the Jaji attacks but he was silent on the number of those in custody.
He said while it was true that some people were in custody, the number of those being held could only be made public when the report of the board of inquiries set up by the army and the defence headquarters had been submitted.
Both panels are being coordinated by Major-Gen. S.U Abdualkadir, who is the Head of Directorate Army Standard Evaluation at the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja.
The military high command removed the Commandant of the AFCSC, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Kure, and the Commander of the Infantry Corps and Centre, Jaji, Maj. Gen Mohammed Isah, to pave the way for unimpeded investigation into the incident.
Air Vice Marshal E.E Osim was appointed to take over from Kure while Major Gen. K.C Osuji replaces Isah.
SATURDAY PUNCH had on December 3, 2012 reported that 10 officers and soldiers had been arrested over the twin bomb blasts at Jaji.
A statement from the Director of Army Public Relations, which put the initial death toll at 11, also stated that 30 people were injured and taken to the hospital.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, had attributed the successful bombing of the military establishment to laxity.

Man released from prison for killing daughter gets out and kills another daughter (PHOTO)
A man was arrested in 1995 for killing his own daughter. Daron Duane Davis spent 11 years in prison, got out and was recently arrested again for killing his second daughter. In this case, the man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility for parole. Sondaria Davis died before her first birthday after being beaten to death by her father. That’s when Davis was sentenced to 20 years in prison, serving 11 of them. His girlfriend, Sondraria’s mother, was also sentenced to probation for her role in the abuse. Davis was a free man after 2006, but obviously not reformed.

Clash between Goldie & J Martins after he disrupts her video shoot in SA
There's serious bad blood right now between two music stars: Goldie and J Martins. It's a long story, but I'll try to make it short. Goldie invited J Martins to South Africa in November to appear in the video of a song they did together called Give It To Me. J Martins asked for business class. Goldie said she couldn't afford it. J Martins agreed to come reluctantly. Then he told Goldie to pick him up at the airport. Goldie sent someone instead. J Martin refused to follow the man Goldie sent to the airport to pick him up, saying he didn't know the man and didn't want to be kidnapped (which makes sense).

Man Jailed For Shipping 80,000 AK47 Rifles, Ammunition To Nigeria
An arms dealer who arraigned to sell 80,000 AK47 assault rifles and 32 million rounds of ammunition to Nigeria has been jailed for seven years, just months after a judge threw the case out of court.
Gary Hyde, 42, oversaw the £800,000 shipment of tens of thousands of assault rifles, 9mm pistols, rifles, and bullets, from China to Africa in 2007, according to the Telegraph.
Hyde, who started in the gun trade when he was 14, flouted British legislation designed to control the trade and transportation of the weapons despite being regarded as an “authority” on those laws.
