I was responsible for Amaechi's 2007 complications – Obasanjo
FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo has
said that he should be held responsible for the travails of the Rivers
State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, before and after the 2007
governorship election.
Obasanjo explained that rather than
blame Dr. Peter Odili, who was Amaechi’s predecessor, the state governor
should realise that he (Obasanjo) was fully in charge and responsible
for his (Amaechi) woes.
It will be recalled that Obasanjo
surprisingly denied Amaechi the PDP governorship ticket during the build
up to the 2007 general election in Rivers State, declaring the
Ikwerre-born politician’s case as having a K-leg.
K-leg is an euphemism used by Obasanjo in 2007 to describe the reason why he did not give Amaechi the governorship ticket.

He is a regular motorist who shuttles between Lekki and other parts of the Lagos Island. But this day, he had already passed
through the toll plaza at Admiralty Way before he remembered that he had
forgotten a very important document which he left on his bed. He was so furious with himself because he
didn’t have any other choice but to drive back home to be able to make
any headway in his business that day.

2 die, 9 severely injured as govt convoy causes accident in Lagos.
Two
persons were killed on Wednesday, while no fewer than nine others were
injured after a tipper rammed into pedestrians at the U-turn end of the
Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The
tipper was reported to be avoiding a government convoy of seven
vehicles that allegedly drove recklessly to the expressway from a side
road. The incident was said to have occurred between 11am and 12pm.

ASUU CONGRESS: UNIJOS lecturers voted for continuation of strike
Lecturers at the University of Jos have voted for continuation of the on-going strike by the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) in the country. Chairman of the chapter, Dr. David Jankam who made this known on Monday while speaking with THE NATION shortly after the congress of the chapter said members did not see any substance in the dialogue with the federal government to warrant calling off the strike.

Lagos Stops Admitting Unintelligent Students Into Public Schools
Oladunjoye who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Omolara Erogbogbo urged parents to desist from approaching teachers and other people for the placement of their wards into model colleges and upgraded schools.
She affirmed that students who failed to meet the promotion criteria set out in the state would not be promoted.

Global News arrested in connection with a scandalous story involving Tunde Folawiyo
The publishers of Global News were yesterday arrested in connection with a scandalous story involving Tunde Folawiyo, the business magnate and entrepreneur. Segun Ogunbunmi of Global News and Kunle Rasheed of Global Excellence were arrested after publishing a story in Global News which alleged that Mr. Folawiyo had been involved in an affair with former beauty queen Ifeoma Williams.
