ASUU Strike: "Youths May Be Forced To Revolt",says Rt. Rev Onah




The Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Rt. Rev. Professor Godfrey Onah, at the weekend, condemned the attitude of politicians and public office holders who are not concerned about the plight of youths and the generality of the masses.
Speaking during the funeral mass for Lolo Josephine Oyima Abba, mother of the Enugu State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Engr. Vita Abba at Ede-Oballa, in Nsukka Council Area of Enugu State, Onah warned that such neglect could force the youths to revolt against the leaders.

Temple stampede leaves 89 dead in India



A stampede outside a temple in central India killed at least 89 people Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred on a connection over the Sindh River while pilgrims were headed to the temple for a Hindu festival. "The death toll may go much higher as about 25,000 individuals were present on the bridge at that time," said D.K. Arya, a nearby deputy police inspector. A rumor that the bridge was about to collapse caused panicked visitors to stampede, police told source sister network. Lots of people jumped off the bridge in to the river, Arya said. The stampede occurred at a temple in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

Just In: IRS Airline Plane Crash-Lands In Kaduna



 
Report just reaching Aproko247 from a source at the Kaduna airport has it that another air disaster was averted on Sunday evening as a plane belonging to IRS Airline made a forceful landing.  It was gathered from the airport source that the aircraft's tyres refused to come during landing, which made the pilot to crash-land the aircraft. "The front tyres didn't come out on time and the pilot had to land the plane without its tyres out," the airport source informed us.

 A woman approached actress Yvonne Jegede on her way to have groceries in Ajao Estate recently, saying how she is really a big fan of her movies. The lady later cried and pleaded for assistance; she said she and her children had been residing in a church, and barely had food to eat. Yvonne followed her to where her children were and after seeing their condition decided to simply help her. A week later Yvonne and her friend movie producer Chinneylove payed them a trip and gave them food stuff. They also gave them money to rent a place to stay. See more photos following the break.

I finished my secondary education in a secular institution before moving to Babcock University.  I could not finish from Babcock because I had some personal issues. Again, I dropped and enrolled at the National Open University.

SHOCKING: Ugly head Man Beheads Innocent Passerby (PHOTO)




An innocent passerby, Christopher Udi met his untimely death after he was hacked to death by a man quarreling with his younger brother over a parcel of land.

The assailant, Maduka Samuel Ogbu, 38, had attempted to strike his brother, Peter Ogbu with a machete during a quarrel on their farm at Mgbede Akaeze in Ivo  Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, but he was able to escape  after being dealt a blow in the back.
While Maduka who was still very furious saw Udi passing by thought he was a friend to his younger brother, instantly dealt him a fatal blow, which severed the head of the innocent man.

Mugabe Plotting to Kill Zuma?



Johannesburg – A two page report dated 2nd July contains dates and details of a plot by Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe to have President Jacob Zuma and diplomat Lindiwe Zulu assassinated. According to the Guardian, which has seen the supposedly leaked document, Mugabe had hired six Lebanese men to to undertake the hits.
The document noted the hiring of the assassins by Mugabe and then detailed the briefing of over the planned assassinations.

60 dead, 100 injured in stampede near Indian temple



At least 60 pilgrims are dead and 100 injured Sunday after a stampede near a Hindu temple in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh, police say. The stampede occurred at a bridge near the Ratangarh temple in Datia district. Police teams were carrying out rescue work at the scene, regional police chief DK Arya said.

President GEJ seeks immunity for African leaders from ICC prosecution for war crimes, genocide



Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, has called for an amendment of the laws governing the International Criminal Court, ICC, to allow serving African leaders to enjoy immunity from prosecution for war crimes, genocide, and war against humanity. Two serving African presidents, Sudan and Kenya, have been accused of war crimes by the ICC. Mr. Jonathan stated this on Saturday in an address at the Extraordinary Session of African Union Heads of State and Government, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

In the last three years, we have had stability. From January to date, for the first time since 2008, we have had a consistent stretch of inflation at below 10 per cent. Last month, it was 8.2 per cent. By the end of this year, we would be under eight per cent and we will keep inflation in single digit throughout 2014.
