Guinea concert stampede takes 2 dozen souls



At least 24 people have died in a stampede at a beach concert in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The president’s office has declared a week of national mourning after what it called a “tragic drama” at a concert by the Guinean rap group Instinct Killers.


Dozens of people were injured, said police sources quoted by AFP. The concert took place on Tuesday evening on a beach in Ratoma, a northern suburb of Conakry.  The authorities were “shocked by the tragic drama caused by mass movements at a cultural event,” said a statement from the president’s office.  Hospital sources said there were 13 girls among the dead.

Temple stampede leaves 89 dead in India



A stampede outside a temple in central India killed at least 89 people Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred on a connection over the Sindh River while pilgrims were headed to the temple for a Hindu festival. "The death toll may go much higher as about 25,000 individuals were present on the bridge at that time," said D.K. Arya, a nearby deputy police inspector. A rumor that the bridge was about to collapse caused panicked visitors to stampede, police told source sister network. Lots of people jumped off the bridge in to the river, Arya said. The stampede occurred at a temple in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.

60 dead, 100 injured in stampede near Indian temple



At least 60 pilgrims are dead and 100 injured Sunday after a stampede near a Hindu temple in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh, police say. The stampede occurred at a bridge near the Ratangarh temple in Datia district. Police teams were carrying out rescue work at the scene, regional police chief DK Arya said.

TB Joshua banned from hosting revival in Ghana after stampede that killed 4



Ghanaian authorities have temporarily banned the Ghana branch of TB Joshua's Synagogue Church of All Nation from hosting revivals, days after four people were killed and 13 more injured in a stampede during a church service on Sunday May 19th. 

Thousands of people flocked to the church after church officials announced that holy water would be distributed. During the rush for the anointed water, three women and one man lost their lives after being trampled over.
Ghanaian authorities said the stampede could have been avoided if the church had used a bigger venue. The church is no longer allowed to hold revivals at their Spintex Auditorium in Accra.

Holy death: 4 die in T.B. Joshua’s church during stampede for holy water






Four Ghanaian churchgoers were killed today during Pastor TB Joshua's church service on Sphintex Road in Accra during a stampede as worshippers scrambled for "Holy Water ".


Police sources in Accra stated that the four dead persons comprised of three females and young boy. Thirteen others were injured in the stampede. The Nigerian born controversial priest is the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), church with a large following in Lagos suburb and also a televangelismarm that parades miracles and prophesies ranging from claims of AIDS /HIV cure, plane crashes and outcomes of soccer matches.
