Update: Ibragim Todashev's death is extrajudicial killing - lawyer

In an interview with the Voice of Russia, the lawyer of Abdulbaki Todashev, Zaurbek Sadakhanov, qualified what the FBI agents did with Ibragim Todashev as a deliberate murder. “Today, we saw photos of the killed Ibragim,” Mr. Sadakhanov said. “Judging by these photos, they shot at him 7 times. One of these shots was at the back of his head, so, this shot was obviously unexpected by him. It is hard to say which shots were made earlier and which later.”

“This incident raises many questions,” Zaurbek Sadakhanov continued, “and I hope that all of them will be thoroughly investigated. Thus, it looks very strange that the FBI agents came to Todashev’s place instead of ordering him to come to a police office. Then, why was he integrated without a lawyer, although this was already his third interrogation? Todashev was going to leave for Chechnya on May 24, and he already had a ticket, but the FBI did not allow him to leave the US, saying that he will have another interrogation. Then, why did they shot at him as many as 7 times? There were 5 policemen, and Todashev was alone in his flat, so one bullet was quite enough to kill him.”

Full Update: Delivery of S-300 hampers Syrian opposition’s victory

The delivery of S-300 air defence systems to Syria will make the opposition’s victory more shadowy, editor-in-chief of the “Voenno-Promyshlenny Kurer” magazine Mikhail Khodarenok said in an interview with the Voice of Russia. According to him, even a supply of weapons to militants by the European Union will not help them.
It will be impossible to defeat the Bashar al-Assad regime without air support.
According to the expert, the supply of S-300 air defence systems under a contract signed earlier will cool those who demand for establishing a no-fly zone over Syria.
The expert believes that the supply of air defence systems to Syria is an obstacle for foreign interference in the Syrian conflict.

Syria's Assad vows retaliation for future Israeli strikes

President Bashar Assad has said that Syria “will respond in kind” to any future Israeli airstrike on its territory and expressed confidence in the victory over the foes of the Syrian state. The Syrian government has been criticized for its muted response to recent Israeli airstrikes on several facilities in Syria in alleged attempts to stop shipments of missiles bound for Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group.
Assad said there was "popular pressure" to open a military front against Israel on the Golan Heights but such a move would require serious political, social and military deliberation.

Assad reiterated his support for an international conference on Syria, which Russia and the United States attempt to put together in Geneva, but stressed that any outcome of this or any other Syria-related discussions by the international community must be “subject to the approval of the Syrian people through a popular referendum.”
Asked about the the deliveries of Russian S-300 air defense systems to Syria, Assad simply said Russia is committed to honoring the existing defense contracts with Syria.

Happily married for a decade, the couple cannot bear to even imagine their lives without one another. Yet, astonishingly, they haven’t made love for more than two years.

Dollar may lose status as the world’s currency

Though the US dollar continues to reign as the foreign reserve currency of choice, a new International Monetary Fund analysis shows that the currency has slumped to a 15-year low, heightening concerns that it may lose that status.

While the dollar currently constitutes 62 percent of the $6 trillion in foreign holdings by the world’s central banks, when a historical view is taken into account, Dick Bove, vice president of equity research at Rafferty Capital Markets says the dollar’s actual percentage of total money supply worldwide has gone from 90 percent in 1952 to about 15 percent today.
Bove, like many other analysts, believes that the rise of the Chinese currency, the yuan, is at the expense of the US dollar’s dominance as a safe haven.
