15 Nigerian soldiers who refused orders from their superior to go to the war front and fight members of the insurgency group, Boko Haram in Adamawa state recently, were yesterday September 17th sentenced to 4 years imprisonment by a military court that sat at the 23rd Armoured Brigade in Yola in Adamawa state. The sentenced soldiers who had been in detention for over three weeks were convicted on charges ranging from insubordination, dereliction of duty and refusal to undertake order assigned to them in the war against the sect members.

Man Gets 27 years imprisonment in Cambodia
23 year old Precious Chineme Nwoko has been sentenced to 27 years imprisonment by a Cambodian Court for drug trafficking in Cambodia.
Police sources say Nwoko was a ringleader in a heroin smuggling cartel in Cambodia. He was arrested last month for handing a backpack containing 2.2 kilos (4.8 pounds) of heroin to two women, 41year old Australian Yoshe Ann Taylor and 19 year old French Charlene Savarino, for onward transportation to an unidentified man in Australia. Both women were however caught and arrested.

Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, on Thursday, sentenced a 37-year-old stock broker, Ayoola Coker, to 30 years imprisonment for stealingN17.5 million belonging to his clients.
Coker was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the charges during his re-arraignment on a 15-count charge on Thursday.
Justice Onigbanjo convicted Coker on all the 15-count charges of stealing, issuance of dud cheque, forgery and alteration preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Reps approve 14 years imprisonment for same s-ex marriage
The House of Representatives yesterday Thursday May 29th approved 14 years imprisonment for persons who contracted same s-ex marriage in the country. This was sequel to a clause-by-clause consideration of a Bill for an Act to prohibit marriage or union entered between persons of same s-ex, at the Committee of the Whole.
“Marriage or civil union entered between persons of same gender shall not be solemnised in any place of worship, either church or mosque or any place in Nigeria,” it said.
Introducing the bill, Rep. Albert Sam-Tsokwa ( PDP-Taraba) said that it sought to achieve a far reaching objective by outlawing same s-ex marriage and provide punishment for offenders.
It also set out a 10-year sentence for “any person who directly or indirectly makes public show of same-s-ex amorous relationships’’.

Nigerian teenager, Opemipo Jaji found guilty of rape, to spend rest of his life in Jail
Opemipo took the girl to Jubilee Park in Enfield where he repeatedly raped her for three hours. The court heard today that the Nigerian Paedophile stuffed a school tie and gloves into her mouth to stop her screaming. But Opemibo denied being the attacker, telling police he had seen the girl on the bus but nothing had happened. "I am just not capable of doing something as despicable and heartless as this," he told the court.

WARNING !!! Rape attracts life imprisonment in Nigeria
The House of Representatives yesterday Tuesday March 5th approved life imprisonment for any person convicted of rape. They also approved a minimum of 20 years without an option of fine for persons convicted of gang raping someone.
The bill, which was sponsored by Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also approved 25 years imprisonment for any person who attempted to use chemical, biological or any harmful liquid on another person. (e.g pouring acid on anyone).
The bill also approved 4 years in jail or a fine not more than N200,000 or both for any person convicted of performing female circumcision and general mutilation or engaging someone to carry it out. Aiding female circumcision attracts N100, 000 or two years in jail or both.

Man Sentenced To 2 years Imprisonment For Stealing Vegetables
A Magistrate Court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday sentenced a 49-year-old man, Mr. Mustapha Adesina, to two years imprisonment for stealing vegetables valued at N5, 000.
Adesina, who pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against him when the matter was mentioned, was accused of harvesting vegetables on the complainant’s farm every Sunday. The Police Prosecution Officer, Mr. Augustine Ozimini, told Magistrate Idowu Olayinka, that Adesina committed the said offence on January 20 at Ita-Ika area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

Iranian Judge: 24-Year-Old Man Sentenced "To 1 Million Years" Imprisonment For Child Pórnography
An Iranian judge yesterday sentenced a 24-year-old man to 1 million years imprisonment for possession of child pórnography. Mohammed Kenare was sentenced Wednesday morning by a local judge who in his ruling held that possession of child pornography (video) is an act that could only be committed by a despicable and satanic person and that he (Kenare) should be locked up "for as much years as the devil should be locked up".
