'On Sanusi, the Opposition and Fifth Columnists' - By Reno Omokri
Article written by Reno Omokri, Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media. Find below
The recent suspension of the erstwhile Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has ignited a debate on Social Media and as has become typical with many pundits, the discourse has been dominated by sentiments rather than facts.
As Sanusi has indicated that he will be challenging his suspension in court, I will not make this piece about him and recent events surrounding him. Yes, I will cite some examples of double standards as regards the approach taken by some analysts, but in my view, the matter is now best left to the courts.

GBAM: Any party that fields Jonathan’ll lose —APC **Opposition confused, desperate power mongers, says PDP
The All Progressives Congress on Wednesday continued its war of words with the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party over the suitability of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the presidential election.
Any party that fields Jonathan’ll lose —APC **Opposition confused, desperate power mongers, says PDP
While the APC believes that fielding Jonathan as a candidate would be suicidal for any party, the Presidency and the PDP argued that he remains the best to contest and win a presidential poll in the country at present.
The latest war of attrition was spurred by Tuesday’s invitation to the President by the APC Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, to join the newly formed political party if he was fed up with the crises in the PDP.
Akande had said, “We (the APC) don’t even close our door to the PDP. If Jonathan is tired of the crises in the PDP, he is welcome in the APC.”
The Presidency however reacted immediately to the invitation, saying it was an acknowledgment by the APC of Jonathan’s sterling leadership qualities.

Full Update: Delivery of S-300 hampers Syrian opposition’s victory
The delivery of S-300 air defence systems to Syria will make the opposition’s victory more shadowy, editor-in-chief of the “Voenno-Promyshlenny Kurer” magazine Mikhail Khodarenok said in an interview with the Voice of Russia. According to him, even a supply of weapons to militants by the European Union will not help them.
It will be impossible to defeat the Bashar al-Assad regime without air support.
According to the expert, the supply of S-300 air defence systems under a contract signed earlier will cool those who demand for establishing a no-fly zone over Syria.
The expert believes that the supply of air defence systems to Syria is an obstacle for foreign interference in the Syrian conflict.

Opposition misinforming Nigerians on Jonathan’s performance – FG
The Federal Government has accused opposition parties of deliberately misinforming Nigerians about the performance of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, who made the allegation on Tuesday, however said Jonathan was determined to pursue and actualise his administration’s transformation agenda in spite of the tendency of the opposition to feed the public with wrong information.
Anyim said this in an address he sent to the opening of a one-day workshop on Effective Information Management and Public Communication as a Key Component of the Transformation Agenda.

Opposition: We Demand Real Democracy and an End to Tyranny/ Where is The Media?
The Western media isn't covering Bahrain or Egypt. Just checked CNN, MSBC, FOX. They have the fight in Syria and the Pope retiring. Also, they are not covering the wars in Libya, Algeria, Mali, or the drone bombing in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.
Protesters Flood Streets for Real Democracy in Bahrain
The supreme organizing committee for today's massive march announced that huge numbers of people participated in the massive pro-democracy march "Call of the Homeland", refusing decades of dictatorship and tyranny. The supreme committee estimates the total number of today's protesters with more than 280,000 Bahraini citizens.
All religious, political and different ethnics took part in today's huge march over its route of four kilometers long; which started from Shakhoora Roundabout to Duraz Roundabout, at the west of the Bahraini capital, Manama.
Protesters raised many banners with pro-democracy and counter dictatorship slogans, demanding a serious democratic transition in Bahrain.
