The Presidency on Wednesday said
Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State was at liberty to dump the
ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the opposition All Progressive
Congress.
Special Adviser to President Goodluck
Jonathan on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak, said this in an
interview with our correspondent. Gulak was reacting to a statement
credited to Amaechi that he would consult Jonathan before joining the
APC.

Lagos Passengers Stranded As BRT Employees Join ASUU Strike
Commuters in Lagos, western Nigeria, were stranded, Saturday morning, when workers with the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT scheme refused to act as they protested their unpaid salaries. The commuters, who expected to board the bus after the monthly sanitation, were left to bemuse their fate once the boarding points at Ketu and Ojota bus stops were empty. It was revealed that the ticketers and drivers refused to act as their salary for last month hadn't been paid-a situation which they're not used to.

Kaduna PDP chiefs dump Tukur, join Baraje faction
Some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party led by a former Chairman of the PDP in Kaduna State, Alhaji Audi Yaro-Makanma have joined the Abubakar Baraje faction of the party.
Yaro-Makanma was the state party chairman between 2001 and 2007 under the Ahmed Makarfi administration in the state.
A statement signed by Yaro-Makanma and a former member of the State House of Assembly(1999-2007), Mr. Gideon Morik, in Kaduna on Monday, said the decision to join the New PDP was to save the party from destruction.

Head Of Service Of The Federation Refuses To Join Issues With Maina Over Pension Looting Allegation
Head of Service (HoS) of the Federation, Alhaji Isa B. Sali has said he would not join issues with embattled chairman of Pension Reforms Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, as it had since been dissolved and all the members returned to their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).Sali said: “The President has approved the dissolution of the Pension Reforms Task Team and all the members were issued with letters to return to their various agencies.

Police Join Hunt For 10,000 Escaped Crocodiles
South Africa has called out the police to join the hunt for as many as 10,000 crocodiles on the loose after escaping from a farm during floods and being washed into one of southern Africa’s biggest rivers, officials said on Friday. According to reports during the week, a small farm in South Africa is dealing with the recovery of about 15,000 escaped crocodiles.
Officials in Pont Drift say the reptiles have since been spotted downstream when they got loose from the Rakwena farm and into the Limpopo River. “We will catch them as the farmers call us and say there are crocodiles. In Weipe there are many and I heard there were crocodiles in Musina on the school’s football field,” said Zane Langman, the son of Johan Boshoff, who owns the farm.

2015: PDP applies to join in suit against Jonathan
Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday asked an Abuja Federal High Court to join it as a defendant in the suit to stop President Goodluck Jonathan from seeking re-election in 2015.
In its application in the suit, the PDP said Jonathan was a member of the party “who is capable of being sponsored for the 2015 presidential election”.
A Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, Mr. Henry Amadi, had prayed the court to declare that Jonathan was not eligible to run for another election, because by so doing, he would be in office for more than two terms of four years as prescribed by the 1999 Constitution.

Nigeria To Join Organisation Of French Speaking Countries
One of the decisions reached at the end of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council Meeting (FEC), was the approval for Nigeria to join the International Organisation of French speaking countries; the International Organization of the Francophonie (IOF). This move agreed upon by the cabinet of Ministers is expected to further enhance the development of the nation’s education sector.

December 1 marked Worlds AIDS Day celebration and Nigerian/American TV personality, Shei Funmi mobilised Nigerian celebrities to take part in the HIV/AIDS celebrity photo campaign, themed GET NAKED. The photo-shoot took place on Thursday, November, 29 2012 at the Bheerhugz Cafe, in the Ikeja City Mall, Alausa- Lagos.
Celebrities included Karen Igho, Dammy Krane, Eva Alordiah, KEL, Denrele Edun, Yemi Alade, John Njamah, Saeon, Phenom, Ms Iye, Capital F.E.M.I., Adol, Jaywon, Aramide, Tillaman, YQ, Kunle Bello, Kenneth Okolie, Tosyn Bucknor and some others. It wasn’t all just about striking poses and taking photos; there were also performances by DIPP, Sammy, Mtrill, Pelli, Slim T, VON, Temisan and Blue Ice.
