Port Harcourt: Nigerian Police frees 6 pregnant girls in baby factory raid




Lagos — Nigerian police have raided a baby factory in the oil city of Port Harcourt and arrested a woman accused of harbouring six pregnant girls, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
"We rescued six girls last week at different stages of pregnancy from an illegal maternity home in Port Harcourt," Joy Elomoko of the Imo State police told AFP.

A six-year-old girl, Mariam Adeniji, is currently in shock after witnessing the killing of her father, Rafiu Adeniji, who was allegedly shot dead by policemen on Sunday.

Girl gets Six-Hour Jail sentence For Killing Her Rapist Father



A court in Uganda sentenced a teen age girl to a six-hour jail term for killing her rapist father
It was probably one of the most unusual sentences delivered in the country, but the case was just as unusual as it was heartrending.
The Masaka High Court presided over by Lady Justice Margaret Oumo Oguli, Monday heard that 18-year-old girl killed her father on May 8, after he had molested her.


It was not the first time he was doing so. The 58-year-old man had been molesting the daughter repeatedly from the time she was 13 years old.

Federal Government To Empower Six Million Youths




The Federal Government has expressed hopes to fully develop the capacity around six million Nigerian youths through Integrated Youth Empowerment Programme (IYEEP) launched with the Mara Foundation within 12 months.

In collaboration with Mara Foundation, FG said it hopes to lessen the amount of youth unemployment throughout the country.

Photos: Woman Killed, Many Injured As Truck Crushes Six Vehicles In Abuja




Tragedy struck in Abuja on Saturday when a woman was crushed to death by a heavy-duty truck and injured many others at Biaji Road in Kubwa . The accident which occurred at 12. 00pm was attributed to the brake failure from the truck which made the driver to lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a woman who about to climb a motorcycle known as (Okada) and killed her on the spot while many others were said to have broken their hands and legs. 

An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said that the truck hit the woman, throwing her body parts and her body into pieces.

According to Premium Times, six young men accused of smoking Indian hemp and gambling have been set ablaze in Abeokuta, Ogun State, by a house owner in their area. The landlord, identified as Agba, in Ago-Oko area of the town where the incident occurred, had warned the boys on several occasions to desist from their acts, warnings they ignored.  And one day, just this past Tuesday night August 6th, Agba felt he was god and decided to punish the guys.

Married man Gets death sentence for keeping six women as $-èx slaves [PHOTO]



Li Hao, 35, a former government employee of central China, was sentenced to death after being convicted of murder, ráp-e and prostitution, after forcing women to act as s-èx slaves in a dungeon he dug by himself. Hao, imprisoned six women in an underground cell, used them as s-èx slaves for between three and 21 months and killed two of them.

The court heard that Hao, held the six women and forced them into prostitution and had them make pôrnographic videos which he then uploaded to the internet and benefited from the profit.  Hao is a married and has an eight-month-old son. He was working as a clerk for Luoyang’s technology supervision bureau when he was arrested. 
Police discovered the dungeon after his most recent victim, who Hao held as a salve for three months, escaped while being taken out to work as a prostitute.

Ekiti State University, EKSU sacks six lecturers for plagiarism and s-èxual harassment, Rusticates 300 Students



Authorities of the Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, have relieved six academic staff of the appointments for plagiarism, fraudulent practices and s-èxual harassment. The institution's Deputy Registrar, Information, Mr. Ajibade Olubunmi, said in a statement that the list included three senior academic staff who were dismissed for manipulating examination scores, plagiarism and failure to serve the university after being sponsored abroad.

Olubunmi said the institution's Governing Council, after the recommendations of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee, also approved the termination of the appointments of three other academic staff for gross academic misconduct, falsification of employment records and s-èxual harassment.
The Olokuta Medium Security Prison in Akure, Ondo State, which recorded a jailbreak, yesterday. He said the university also expelled 24 students “found guilty of committing offences including examination misconduct to being members of unregistered associations in the university.

Fire Guts family of six in Port Harcourt



A family of six perished in an early morning inferno yesterday in Port Harcourt. Nobody could say what caused the fire but neighbors of the deceased family members told sources that the fire started at about 2pm.


According to the landlord of the house, located at number 17, New Estate Road, Railway Quarters,  they heard was a loud explosion. What followed next, he stated,  were balls of fire.

The residents claimed they ran out of their apartments in the confusion, adding that the explosion came from the apartment of the deceased family members.

Traders Arrest Six Armed 'Boko Haram' Gunmen In Maiduguri




The market had been burnt twice by Boko Haram.

Local traders at Gamboru Market in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Wednesday arrested six armed gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members while allegedly trying to attack traders, witnesses said.

The gunmen, according to witness accounts, were spotted entering the market with their weapons hidden under their garments.

“A trader alerted us when he saw them and we immediately trailed and rounded them up,” said 36-year-old grocery merchant, Babagana Aji.

MASSOB Update: Two die, markets close for Apo Six



Virtually all markets in Anambra State were closed on Saturday as indigenes complied with a sit-at-home order declared by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra.
In Awka, the state capital, the major streets were empty while the main market, Eke Awka, was deserted. There were however skeletal trading at Amaenyi and Kwata markets.
In Onitsha, two people suspected to be members of MASSOB were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in somersaulted as they tried to escape from security agents that were pursuing them.

PHOTOS: Six People Arrested For Having Séx In The Cinema



Police have arrested six people who they say were taking part in a live séx show at a movie theater in a family-oriented town.  
Three women and a man were booked on misdemeanor charges of séxual sólicitation after allegedly engaging in séx acts early Thursday inside the Syracuse 6 Movie Theater in Syracuse, 25 miles north of Salt Lake City, Utah, police said.
A janitor for a company contracted to clean the theater organized the show to make money, investigators said, and planned to charge from $35 to $75 for admission depending on whether someone wanted to just watch or participate.

6 dead and at least 100 injured as hail storms and tornadoes hit Texas





Multiple fatalities and 120 homes destroyed as storms and powerful tornadoes struck Texas Wednesday.

Matt Zavadsky, a spokesman for MedStar Mobile Healthcare says about 100 people were injured as tornadoes touched down several times in Hood, Tarrant, Dallas and Parker counties. Hardest hit were two neighborhoods, Rancho Brazos Estates and DeCordova Ranch, in the southern end of the town of about 8,000 residents.
"With these types of tornadoes, they touch down; they lift up; they touch down. They tend to hopscotch," he said.

Pastor, six others held over MMIA robbery





A Pastor and the General Overseer of The Way of Joy Church, Ibikunle Olanrewaju John, was one the seven suspects paraded yesterday by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Umaru Manko, over the March 13, 2013 robbery attack at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, in which two policemen were killed.
The same gang of armed robbers was responsible for the February 10, 2012 attack at the airport where about N600 million was carted away. Ibikunle was paraded alongside six others including; Atoba Adeniyi, Ibrahim Abdullahi, Kazeem Aderibigbe, Saheed Adekunle, Christian Joshua and Saheed Okunlo.
Police investigation revealed that he normally provides spiritual support for the suspects and help in keeping their weapons and ammunition.

Jos: Women Attack STF Officers In Riyom, Injure Six



Six officers of the Special Task Force (STF) in Jos, Plateau state have been injured when they were attacked by some Berom women in Rim village in Riyom local government area of the state.
A statement by STF’s media and information officer Captain Salisu Mustapha said the women became violent and started hurling insult, and throwing dangerous objects including stones  at STF personnel who were on a search operation in the area; injuring six of them in the process.
“What happened in Rim was a usual random check and search operation that is conducted by STF in recent times all over the state against which the women mobilized themselves and prevented the personnel from doing their work and started calling for the withdrawal of the troop from Rim.

CHILD ABUSE: Father ties, locks up six-year-old daughter for witchcraft ( PHOTO)




A 42-year-old father, Mr. Edet Etok-Akpan, is currently being quizzed at the headquarters of the Cross River State Police Command in Calabar for torturing his six-year-old daughter, Edidiong, as a result of a church prophetess’ pronouncement that the girl was a witch.
Edidiong was beaten by her father and locked up in a room with her hands, mouth and face bound for four days before she was rescued by neighbours.
It was learnt that Etok-Akpan started beating her on February 19 after an unidentified prophetess in their church told him that Edidiong was the witch responsible for the stagnancy in his life.

Six Dead Following Outbreak Of Measles In Niger State




Niger State Commissioner for Health, Dr Ibrahim Sule, says no fewer than six persons are confirmed dead following the outbreak of measles in some parts of the state.Sule made this known on Thursday in Minna, saying that the outbreak was reported within the last two weeks in four local government areas.
“I can confirm that six deaths were recorded due to the outbreak of the disease in the state so far, but the situation is under control at the moment,“ he said.
The commissioner listed the affected council areas as Mokwa, Edati, Bosso and Chanchaga, saying that Chanchaga was worst hit.

Six kidnapped foreign sailors freed in Nigeria





(Reuters) - Six foreign sailors were freed unharmed overnight by pirates who seized them off the coast of Nigeria's oil-producing region nine days ago, police said on Tuesday.
A rise in piracy off Nigeria's oil-rich coast this month has shown gangs are willing to venture further afield and use more violent tactics, increasing the risk of doing business in Africa's largest energy producer.
One Russian, three Ukrainian and two Indian sailors were taken when gunmen stormed the Armada Tuah 40 miles off the coast of Bayelsa state on February 17.

Judge suspended after groping six women



If you are a judge you get off pretty easy even after committing serious crimes.  The New Jersey Supreme Court has sanctioned a judge from the Superior Court of Ocean County, who groped six women at a party.  The court suspended judge Marquis Jones for four months without pay and ordered him to complete an alcohol treatment program.
 A complaint said the 53 years old, married father of two children, inappropriately touched five female probation officers and an employee of a pub in Toms River during the party organized by the Probation Association of New Jersey.  The judge, through his lawyer, said he was unable to remember what happened because he was drunk. Jones denied any "intentional, inappropriate" touching.

Jones earns N26 Million Naira a year.

Pirates Abduct Six Foreign Sailors Along Brass Waterways Of Bayelsa





Pirates kidnapped six foreign sailors when they boarded a ship two days ago off Nigeria's coast in the latest in a string of attacks off Africa's biggest energy producer, security sources said on Tuesday.
A Russian, three Ukrainian and two Indian sailors were taken when the Armada Tuah was attacked around 40 miles off the coast of oil-producing Bayelsa state, three security sources told Reuters. There were no details on what type of ship it was or where it was flagged.
Piracy off the Nigerian coast and elsewhere in the Gulf of Guinea is on the rise. There have been at least five attacks in the waters off Africa's most populous nation this month.
