Lagos Island issues shoot- on-sight order on hoodlums



The Security Council, Lagos Island East Council Development Area, has ordered a shoot-on-sight order to the police on  people found carrying guns and other weapons capable of inflicting injuries on members of the public.

The order was issued after an emergency security council meeting summoned by the Chairman of the Lagos Island East Council Development Area, Kamal Salau-Bashua.
No fewer than two persons lost their lives while several others were injured and property worth several millions of naira destroyed in a violence on the island during the Easter celebrations.

Soldiers, Police, Hoodlums Clash In Enugu



There was pandemonium in the Coal City, Enugu, weekend, during a bloody clash between soldiers and the police which took place at Ibagwa-Nike area of the town leaving a yet-to-be identified person dead.
The crisis which later involved some hoodlums resulted in the escape of eight suspected murder and robbery kingpins earlier arrested by the Police from the state Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.

Shameless: Police Officers get seriously beating up by Armed Hoodlums' visit to their Station




Men of the Nigeria Police Force were caught unawares on Monday when a gang of heavily armed gun men in their early 30s invaded the police station and disarmed them of their weapons in broad day light.
One policemen confessed:
“I was more or less to go in and check some detainees when I heard gunshots. I rushed out to be face-to-face with bandits in flowing caftans, and some in tattered army uniforms, shooting into the air and ordering us to come out and sleep on the road.

“They then started throwing explosives into the police station. The ground was seriously shaking.
"They later moved to the bank (about 100 metres away) and started shooting and throwing explosives. Some of the robbers were standing over us, while the rest were at the bank.

Hoodlums visit Kenyan shopping mall, at least 22 people killed



 Gunmen stormed a shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya this afternoon Saturday September 21 killing at least 22 people in what could possibly be a terrorist attack. An eyewitness claimed the gunmen told Muslims to stand up and leave the mall and that only non-Muslims would be targeted. By the time they finished shooting indiscriminately, at least 22 were dead and at least 50 people injured.

One survivor said and that the attackers started from the Westage mall ground floor and made their way to the top. He said they had grenades and AK-47 rifles and he saw at least five of them. Local TV stations reported that the gunmen took hostages as soldiers and local policemen surrounded the mall. Another survivor said he was shot at by a man who looked like a Somali.

Police, hoodlums accused of killing undergraduate, friend



Policemen attached to the Badagry Police Division, Lagos State, and some hoodlums have been accused of killing a 25-year-old undergraduate of Delta State University, Ifechukwude Nwainokpor, and his friend, identified simply as Kazeem.

An eight-minute video clip of the gruesome killing, which was made available to PUNCH Metro, showed the two victims handcuffed together. They were covered in their own blood and beaten to death with sticks. Tyres were also put round their necks.

An irate mob could be seen in the video, shouting, “die, die, burn them, burn them.”

20 Vehicles Damaged, 7 Persons Injured As Hoodlums Storm Motor Parks



Hoodlums led by one Lateef Toriola yesterday invaded two motor parks in Kuto, and Ita-Oshin, in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, leaving seven people critically injured and 20 vehicles destroyed.
Security agencies including, Department of State Security, DSS; Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and the Police in the state have arrested about 14 persons in connection with the attack.
The crisis it was gathered started as a result of the alleged plan by a faction of the Road Transport Employers’ Association, RTEAN, in the state led by Toriola, to take over the parks.

Ogun Women Go Nakéd To Protest Against Hoodlums




Last Saturday, there was a drama at Sonde Apon, a rural community in Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State, as elder women staged a protest over the invasion of their community by hoodlums who are suspected to have been sent by land speculators from a nearby community. The invaders, numbering 20, were said to have stormed the community and unleashed terror on the residents.
