Mufty-wearing police officers Disrupt Flag Off Of Rivers New PDP Secretariat



The crisis rocking the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to spiral, and this time into Rivers state.
Mufty-wearing police officers led by Sam Okaura disrupted the secretariat flag off ceremony of the Baraje –led faction of the PDP, the secretariat is supposed to be the Rivers state chapter of the party, after the Chief of Staff of the Rivers state Governor, Chubuike Amaechi declared the secretariat open in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital today.

'Wearing natural hair is unbearable for many African women ' - Adichie



While talking about her new novel Americanah, with Kate Kellaway of The Observer, award winning author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie said black women should embrace their natural hair. When asked to give an honest description of her hair and what it says about her, Chimamanda replied:
That is the best question! My hair is in tiny cornrows; I have a big ponytail on the top of my head. I quite like it. It is natural. I am a bit of a fundamentalist when it comes to black women's hair. Hair is hair – yet also about larger questions: self-acceptance, insecurity and what the world tells you is beautiful. For many black women, the idea of wearing their hair naturally is unbearable.

Female Teachers Banned From Wearing Trousers in Kogi State



Kogi State government has banned female teachers in the public primary and secondary schools from wearing trousers during school hours. The state Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Grace Elebiyo during a press briefing on Wednesday warned that any female teacher caught violating the order will face disciplinary action.
Elebiyo said this new order came after some female teachers in the state were caught violating their professional code of dressing.
She asserted that Kogi State Ministry of Education would no longer tolerate indecent dressing to schools.

African American Woman Attacked & Burnt By 3 Men Wearing White Hoods



Sharmeka Moffitt, 20, is recovering today after three men burned and attacked her while writing the letters “KKK” on the hood of her car.

The attack happened Sunday evening at Civitan Park in Winnsboro, LA while she was walking in the park on a paved trail.



As reported by the Shreveport Times:

    Moffitt called 911 about 8 p.m. and told police she was attacked and burned by three men wearing white T-shirt hoodies, authorities said during a news conference today.

    Moffitt is believed to be severely burned and is being treated at LSU Hospital in Shreveport, where she’s listed in critical condition.
