R.I.P: 3-Year-Old Nigerian Boy Crushed To Death By Lift In Ireland



A Nigerian boy, Solomon Soremekun,  was crushed to death by a lift after getting out of his pushchair and walking into the shaft, Irish media reported on Wednesday.  According to reports, Soremekun was in the company of his mother and three siblings at the time of the incident.  He reportedly got out of his pushchair after he became separated from his family on the first floor and went through open lift doors into the shaft. Unfortunately, the lift came down and crushed him.

Policeman, NSCDC officer crushed while rescuing accident victims

A policeman and an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps lost their lives while attempting to rescue victims of a road accident in the Ikeja area of Lagos State on Saturday. According to police authorities, policemen attached to the State Traffic Division were alerted of a multiple accidents around Ikeja Along Bus Stop on the Agege Motor Road and had rushed to the scene around 7am.

Mother of five jumps from Okada, crushed by runaway truck

When Deaconess Ngozi Ike, a 39 year-old mother of five and a trader, woke at about 6a.m on August 10 to supervise her house chores and prepare food for her household, she did not know that death was looming. After taking care of her children and husband, Elder Frederick Ike, she set out on a journey of no return. Deaconess Ike, who hailed from Obiaruku, in Kwale, Delta State, left her Byazhin Across, Kubwa, Abuja home at about 8.30 a.m. for her shop in the village market where she was selling Nigerian prints and Hollandis.

Sad: Two crushed to death as trailer falls on car on Airport road



This sad incident occurred on Monday night May 27th along Airport road in Mafoluku, Lagos. A trailer carrying heavy duty rods lost control and fell on a car with three people inside.  The three occupants of the car, two men and a woman, were staff of Zenith Pension, Victoria Island. The two men, Ovie and Sir Kay, lost their lives, while the lady survived with a deep cut on her head.
 
Rescuers managed to bring the lady out of the car that night after they heard her shouting she was still alive, but the two dead men were left in the car wreckage until the following morning when their colleagues showed up at the accident scene. Sad! May their souls rest in peace, amen.

Viewers Discretion Advised: Man crushed to death by mast during heavy rain



A 52 year old man identified as Adeolu Adeleke was crushed to death at Marina Car Park, Lagos Island, on Friday May 10th during heavy rain when a communication mast fell from a 2-storey building and crushed him to death.  The roadside trader met his untimely death as he went to protect his wares from heavy rain and winds. He'd dashed across the street to fetch something to cover his wares but the mast fell on him as he made his way back to his shade. See more photos after the cut. *viewer discretion advised*

Cyclist Crushed To Death At Bwari



A middle-aged cyclist was on Friday crushed to death by a tipper along SCC road, New market, Bwari in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)An eyewitness, Nuhu Aliyu, said the accident occurred around 4:30pm. He said the cyclist was crushed to death on the spot, while the person he was carrying was taken to the hospital.

CNN: Dozens Of Children Crushed To Death




Ivory Coast's president declared three days of national mourning and promised a speedy investigation into the New Year's Day stampede that killed 60 people, most of them women and children. "The president of the republic offers his saddest condolences to the families and close relations of the victims and ensures them of his compassion in those painful circumstances," President Alassane Ouattara's office said in a statement issued Tuesday night.

10 students crushed to death, 50 vehicles damaged in Ogun, Nigeria.





ABEOKUTA—Emotions ran high, Wednesday afternoon when a truck rammed into a school building in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, killing no fewer than 10 students, while 50 vehicles were damaged. An eyewitness, who was part of the rescue team before the arrival of officers of Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, told Vanguard that it involved students of Itori Comprehensive High School.

Photo: Three Crushed To Death As Container Falls On Car In Lagos





No fewer than three persons were crushed to death yesterday [Nov. 21] when a 40-feet containerized vehicle fell on a Mazda car on the Badagry-Seme Expressway. The accident which occurred at about 1.15pm was attributed to the bad road which has been a nightmare to commuters and other users of the road.
