The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos,
has apprehended a six-man robbery gang which allegedly attacked a
church, Christ Authority and Power Evangelical Ministry, in the Ijanikin
area of the state during the church’s crossover service on January 1,
2014. The suspects, Adewale Osoja, Bala
Yahaya, Hasan Ado, Ahmed Boladele, Abiodun Olanrewaju and Abbey Edward,
were said to have stolen the church’s offering and also robbed members
of the congregation of their Ipads, phones, jewellery and other
valuables.

Federal Court jails UNIZIK student for impersonating customs boss (Pictured)
A Federal Capital Territory High Court,
Gudu, Abuja, has sentenced a 24-year-old student of Industrial
Engineering of the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Bello
Onimisi, to three months imprisonment.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the
EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in an electronic mail on Wednesday that
the court, presided over by Justice Adebunkola Banjoko, found Onimisi
guilty on two counts of conspiracy and obtaining money under false
pretence.

A few weeks ago, precisely in the closing weeks of 2013, a rather disturbing but not entirely surprising piece of news almost went unnoticed: A group of soldiers numbering about 100 from the 31st Artillery Brigade, Minna, Niger State had stormed a police station in the town and held the officers hostage. Their mission of course was not to pay a courtesy visit in the spirit of ‘espirit de corps. The soldiers were on a revenge mission.

School principal, 6 other gays stoned in Bauchi court
BAUCHI — There was pandemonium at the Upper Court 4 in Anguwan Jaki, Bauchi State, yesterday, as an angry mob almost lynched seven suspected homosexuals brought to court for trial.
One of the suspects was identified as the Principal of a Government Secondary School in the state.
The development forced security personnel at the court premises to rescue the suspects by firing gunshots in the air and using teargas to disperse the mob.
The suspects are Ibrahim Marafa, Shehu Adamu, Yusuf Adamu, Aliyu Dalhatu, Abdulmalik Tanko, Usman Sabo and Hazif Sabo Abubakar.

Union Bank building in U.T.C Area 10 in Abuja was gutted by fire today, The final floor of the 3-storey building was completely razed and the favorite Abuja furniture store, Hadar Situare was also affected in the fire. Countless Naira worth of furniture was destroyed. The fire was eventually put out by the combined team work of the Airforce fire fighters & the Federal Fire Fighters. It took seventeen trucks of water to out the fire out. The explanation for the fire could not be ascertained.

A robbery suspect, Mr Godwin Olukporibe, has confessed that he was forced to form a robbery gang when his father-in-law asked him to pay N1.5 million bride price before he could marry his pregnant girlfriend.
The suspect was arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Lagos State Police Command, following a tip-off that he was in a hotel with his girlfriend in Ibadan, Oyo State, western Nigeria.

A 41-year-old man appeared in court yesterday facing a murder charge after he allegedly fatally assaulted his wife on New Year’s Eve accusing her of receiving a Whatsapp message accompanied by images of male s3xual organs, Zimbabwean papers report.
Thembinkosi Gumbi, who had initially pleaded guilty to charges of assault under the Domestic Violence Act, had his charge changed to murder after his wife Nyarai Moyo (28) succumbed to the assault injuries on January 5 this year.

Weird : Fisherman Catches Mysterious transparent/See-Through Fish [Photos]
A fisherman from New Zealand was left baffled when he caught this see-through shrimp-like creature swimming near the surface of the ocean.
Stewart Fraser was fishing with sons Conaugh and Finn 43 miles north off the North Island’s Karikari Peninsula when he spotted the translucent ‘shrimp’ floating near the top of the water.
Mr Fraser said: ‘I was in two minds whether to haul it in, but curiosity got the better of me and I decided to take a closer look.
