The African country of Nigeria supplies nearly 3% of the world's oil, and is currently the top producer in Africa. Despite the country's vast natural wealth and exports, the average person in Nigeria does not live so well.
According to the CIA World Factbook, the average life expectancy is only 52.6 years. Only 61.3% of the population is literate. 29% of Nigerians between the age of 5 and 14 are child laborers.

Sad: Boy Allegedly Kills Sister Using Wrestling Moves Learned On TV
Viloude Louis, who was allegedly killed by her 13-year-old brother when he performed wrestling moves on her that he had seen on TV.
Vilger Louis talks about his daughter Viloude, dead after suffered multiple injuries after her half-brother allegedly beat her.
A young teen beat his little half-sister to death using wrestling moves he’d copied from the TV, police claim.
Devalon Armstrong, 13, is accused of repeatedly slamming Viloude Louis, 5, onto a bed, punching her in the stomach, jumping on her back and elbow-dropping into her kidneys.

Tukur moves to tame PDP governors
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has begun subtle moves to wrest the party from the grips of its governors and curb their overbearing influence.
To achieve his goal, Tukur plans to establish financial autonomy for the party, which will free it from over-dependence on the governors and the President.
Investigations by our correspondent indicated that the desire of Tukur and the PDP National Working Committee was based on a paper presented by a former National Chairman of the party, Dr. Okwesilise Nwodo, to the party at its December 2012 retreat in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Jonathan Moves To Reconcile With Obasanjo
President Goodluck Jonathan has begun moves to reconcile with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as a means of ending the rift between them. Jonathan and Obasanjo had fallen apart over the last few months, following critical comments made by Obasanjo about the government. In a recent interview on Cable Network News, the former president criticised Jonathan’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency and advised him to initiate a dialogue with the extremist sect.
Obasanjo told the CNN in the interview that Jonathan had been applying less of dialogue and more of force in solving the Boko Haram issue.
