1500 victims in Haiti sue UN over cholera epidemic



The United Nations is facing a huge new lawsuit over the outbreak of cholera in Haiti that has widely been blamed on its peacekeepers, after 1,500 Haitian victims and their family members sued the international body in a federal court in Brooklyn in a class action.

The lawsuit filed in US District Court in New York's Eastern District also seeks to force the UN to bring sanitation and clean water to the Haitian communities in areas affected by the outbreak which started in October 2010.

Miss B-úm B-úm Brazil Threatens To Sue Ronaldo For Denying He Had S-éx With Her



Model Andressa Urach also known as Miss B-úm B-úm has sued Ronaldo after the football star denied that he slept with her. Andressa Urach made headlines around the world on 28th of April after she revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo had slept with her.  Hours before the story came out Ronaldo via his Facebook and Twitter accounts denied such claims.  The Portuguese star later sued the model in the month of May. Ronaldo claims Andressa Urach is using his name to achieve fame.  The Miss B-úm B-úm model says she will fight every legal action.

Hezbollah Terrorism: 3 Lebanese sue FG for N50bn



Three Lebanese and the Nigerian coowner of Amigo Supermarket, who were arrested for keeping an illegal armoury and suspected links with a Hezbollah terror cell in Kano last week, have sued the Federal Government over alleged illegal detention, demanding N50bn damages.
The plaintiffs – Abdalah Tahini, Talal Rouda and Khosai Nouridine – in the action brought before the Federal High Cour sitting in Abuja are also seeking the court’s order stopping the Federal Government from deporting them.
They are contending that if they must be deported, the legal procedure must be followed
Their Nigerian associate, Mustapha Fawaz, who is also in court is joining the Lebanese to request for a separate order directing the Federal Government to unseal their business premises in Abuja.

Detained Leadership journalists released, sue IG for ₦10m




Two journalists with the LeadershipNewspapers, detained by the police on Monday were released on Tuesday evening.
The Group News Editor of LeadershipNewspapers Group, Mr. Tony Amoekedo, and correspondent, Chibuzo Ukaibe, were detained alongside two others at the Force Headquarters following a story their newspaper published on a “presidential directive” to attack key opposition political parties’ leaders.
They were however asked to report at the Force Headquarters daily for further investigation.

Ikeja Police College: Falana Threatens To Sue FG If Commandant Is Sacked



As the fate of the Commandant of the Ikeja Police College, Mr. Irimiya Yerima, hangs in the balance over what the Presidency described as negative image given to Nigeria by the exposure of the rot in the college to the world, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, yesterday threatened to tackle the Presidency if Yerima was dismissed over no fault of his.Information Nigeria gathers that the feeling within the Presidency is that it was the commandant that gave unrestricted access to ChannelsTV to record the footage and beam it to the world so as to embarrass the Federal Government – this much the president revealed during his unscheduled visit to the college last Friday.
