Nigeria's Resources: Adaptation of Tunde Kelani's Film; 'Gong of Taboo'

With enough resources which some tagged' Streams over Desert', 'Island-Oasis', but these resources are been mortgage and plundered by the mortgagees and the mortgagor enjoying the scene while the land owners rots away!

A view of Tunde Kelani's film 'Gong of Taboo' 'Agogo Eeewo' carefully is like a paradox of Nigeria's resources, where the nations resources are been given out or simply shared by the political leaders and rulers.

In Tunde Kelani's 'Gong Of Taboo' 'Agogo Eeewo' , the resources of the community was blatantly given out to fraudulent investors and the proceeds shared by the King and some community leaders and elders. Though the community later protested and disrupted  the activities of the fraudulent investors, the resultant effect was later felt by the King and his subjects who later re-negotiated the terms and conditions for the loggers, e.g, provisions of basic amenities for the community.
In contrast, foreign and multinational companies who are given Nigeria resources to mine and develop their host communities, has totally neglected the host communities, pollutions and environmental degradation reign supreme in these communities and whenever the communities protested the injustice, state apparatus are quickly mobilize and brought to deal with the defenseless communities, instead of improve Corporate Social Responsibilities [CSR] on the part of these companies they resort to media war.

The political lords are safely guarded in cozy comforts in various hotels, holiday resorts, chateau and enjoying at various haciendas across the globe and couldn't careless if the defenseless communities goes to hell maimed, wounded, decapitated, or annihilated. No country in world has SWAGGER like Nigeria political class, just name it!

Tunde Kelani's 'Gong of Taboo' 'Agogo Eeewo' is a thought provoking film [though release quiet some years back, but the film still remain relevant to Nigeria's current political, economic and social development]. What happens to Ogoniland, when the people protested. The entire Ogoniland was invaded, and the resultant effect the loss of prominent Ogoni sons. In Eket where Exxon-Mobil hold sway, there are some recurrent disagreement and the result, state apparatus were mobilize and brought to descend on the hapless citizens. What happens recently at Nassarawa State University, Keffi, is another soured experience where students protesting non availability of basic amenities on campus were mow down by the state apparatus, there were counter denials by the killers.

From Zamfara State lead poisoning to Jos open dangerous mines pits to oil pollution and environmental degradation in the Niger Delta, what is government pro-active measure against these 'Gong of Taboo' 'Agogo Eewo'?
