I read the grave allegations made by an Australian by the name of Mr. Stephen Davis about those that he believes are behind Boko Haram. He made some very serious allegations, he mentioned names and I would be interested in seeing the hard evidence that he claims to have.
I have always said that I believe that anyone, no matter which political party that person belongs to and no matter how highly placed or powerful that person may be, that is involved with Boko Haram ought to be captured, caged, flogged and brought to justice because I regard such people as nothing but bloodthirsty beasts. EU to Decide on New Sanctions Against Russia Within Week
The participants of the EU Summit have asked the European Commission to prepare proposals for new economic sanctions against Russia within one week, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Sunday.
“We said that should there be a further escalation as we had actually experienced, we may need to take additional decisions. We mandated the Commission to prepare the grounds for measures that can be taken and they have to decide on that within a week,”Angela Merkel told journalists after the special meeting of European Council.However, the decision on sanctions will not affect the trilateral gas talks between the European Union, Russia and Ukraine.
“We will irrespective of that also address questions related to gas,” said Merkel, noticing that there has been progress on gas talks since the meeting in Minsk.
Russia Hands Over 63 Ukrainian Soldiers - Airborne Forces
Russia handed over to Ukraine 63 Ukrainian soldiers who have crossed the Russian border on August,27, the deputy commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Major-General Aleksei Ragozin, said on Sunday.
“The relevant authorities have just handed over 63 Ukrainian military men, who have crossed the Russian border on August, 27,” Ragozin said, adding that the soldiers were accommodated in a temporary camp where they received all the assistance needed.
Only 300,000 People Out of Population of 900,000 Remain in Donetsk – DPR
Only one third of the people which had been living in Donetsk before the start of Kiev’s offensive against independence supporters remains in the city, according to Purgin.
“There used to be 900,000 people in Donetsk, one third of it is 300,000 people,” the official said.
The city is facing a humanitarian disaster, according to Purgin.

US Military Conducts More Airstrikes Against Islamic State Targets
US fighter aircraft and unmanned drones have struck the Islamic State (IS) militants near Iraq’s Mosul Dam, said the US Central Command in a statement, published on its official website.
“US military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in support of Iraqi security force operations, using fighter and remotely-piloted aircraft to conduct five airstrikes in the vicinity of the Mosul Dam,” said the statement released on Saturday.

Ebola: Private School Owners, FG on Collision Course
Private school owners in Lagos State and the Federal Government may clash over the latter’s order directing all primary and secondary schools in the country to resume on October 13, 2014, instead of the anticipated September 15.
At a sensitization programme on Ebola which held on Thursday, Punch reports that the school owners, under the umbrella of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, believe that the directive is unnecessary.

Commissioner’s killers die in gun battle
Governor Theodore Orji of Abia said those who killed the State’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Kenneth Nwosu, had also been killed by security operatives in a gun battle near Ikwuano.
Orji made this known at the funeral service for the late Nwosu held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Amizi-Olokoro, on Friday.
“Nwosu was shot by kidnappers. He was shot twice for resisting an attempt to kidnap him.
