Another female suicide bomber blew herself up at Kano Polytechnic this afternoon July 30th as students were checking their results in the school. Ambassador Was Wrongly Linked To Late Ebola Victim – LASG
The Lagos State Government yesterday clarified that the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, Mrs Chigozie Obi-Nnadozie was wrongly linked to the Ebola victim, Patrick Sawyer, who died in Lagos last Friday after flying into the country from Monrovia.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Media, Hakeem Bello, explained that it was the federal government officials working in collaboration with officials of the state government that provided the name of the ambassador as one of the persons, who came into contact with the late Sawyer.

Somali woman killed for not allegedly wearing veil
Militant Islamists in Somalia have shot dead a Muslim woman for refusing to wear a veil, her relatives say.
The nomadic woman was killed outside her hut near the southern Somali town of Hosingow by gunmen belonging to the al-Shabab group, they added. The militants had ordered her to put on a veil, and then killed her after returning and finding she was still not wearing one, the relatives said.

The first teams of emergency workers have arrived in Malin village near the city of Pune in Maharashtra state where the disaster happened. Rescuers trying to reach survivors caught under the debris are being hampered by bad weather. Reports said that heavy rains had triggered the landslide.

Armed Robbers Unleashed Mayhem In Bariga
Monday, 28th of July, 2014 will forever remain in the hearts of residents of Popoola and Ore-ofe Streets, in Bariga area of Lagos State as heavily armed robbers took advantage of the festive period to unleash mayhem in the area.
The area which is known for its tight security was invaded by robbers on Monday night due to its relaxed security state during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration causing terrible and indescribable havoc despite the rain.
Vanguard reports that the robbery operation took over three hours which the robbers attacked many residents, stabbing three people. The robbers who took their time, burgled shops, supermarkets, smashed windscreens of cars parked, carefully avoiding houses they know they can be caught with their security despite the Eid holiday.

Gaza conflict: Israel hits refugee camp, says UN
Tank fire has killed at least 15 Palestinians sheltering at a school in a Gaza refugee camp, the UN says.
Witnesses at the UN-run Abu Hussein school, where thousands were taking refuge, said walls had been destroyed.
Israel, which has accused the militant group Hamas of using schools as bases to launch rockets, said it was investigating the reports. At least 1,200 Palestinians and 55 Israelis have been killed since Israel launched its offensive on July 8.

A senator representing Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Domingo Obende, has said that the senate jettisoned impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan in the interest of stability.
Domingo, who spoke to newsmen at his country home, Igarra in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the Edo State, decried the use of power by the Peoples Democratic Party-controlled Federal Government to intimidate the opposition.

Libya militias seize Benghazi special forces base
The site was captured by Islamist-led militias after days of fighting in the eastern city, officials said.
Meanwhile, Italy has offered to help extinguish a huge blaze that has engulfed the biggest fuel depot in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
