Former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former interim national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande and national publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday visited former military head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari in his Sultan close residence in Kaduna, to commiserate with him over the recent suicide bomb attack that was targeted at him.
The visit and discussions, which held behind closed doors, lasted longer than an hour.
Although Tinubu, who led the team would not take questions from newsmen after their meeting, he however shook hands with reporters present before leaving the Kaduna home of the former military ruler, who is also a national leader of the APC.
It was however gathered from an inside source that Tinubu and the other APC chieftains, who were there to commiserate with General Buhari, also discussed some burning national issues.
According to the source, “the visit is not unconnected with the recent attempt on the life of the general. You should know that the development had continued to attract dignitaries to Kaduna on sympathy visit to him”.
General Buhari too declined to speak to journalists. He simply said, “I have issued a statement before and I cannot say anything contrary to that”.
