Russia to consider Kiev gov't to determine Ukraine aid details.



Russian Economy Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said on Wednesday that Moscow will take changes in the Ukrainian government into consideration when determining the schedule and details of a $15 billion financial aid package to Kiev, the Interfax news agency reported.

"Our commitment to fulfilling these obligations has been confirmed. As for the schedule and parameters, this is an issue that requires further discussion with our Ukrainian colleagues and consideration of the restructuring of the government," Ulyukayev was quoted as saying.

Kwara State PDP To File Lawsuit Against Defectors




The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State is set to take legal action against 20 members of the State House of Assembly who recently defected to All Progressives Congress (APC). The chairman, caretaker committee of the Kwara State chapter of thePDP, Solomon Edeje, in his first interactive session with journalists after the inauguration in Abuja on Wednesday said that the party had concluded arrangements to file lawsuit.  Mr Edeje said that the party still believed that most of the defectors would retrace their steps and return to the party which he described as truly national.

11 Senators dump PDP, defect to APC



According to a report by Sahara Reporters, 11 PDP senators have defected to the All Progressive Congress APC. A formal letter to this effect has been handed to the Senate President, David Mark, and would be read to the general house this afternoon.

The defected senators are:
Senator Bukola Saraki-Kwara Central.
Senator Umaru Dahiru-Sokoto South

Prince Drags Facebook fans to court for posting links to his concerts



Prolific US singer/songwriter, Prince has instituted a lawsuit against 22 Facebook fans for posting links of his live concerts on their Facebook page and blogs without express authorization from him or his label. If found guilty in court, the fans would face a damage claim of $22million. He filed the law suit at the Northern District of Carolina, USA.

Although the actual names of most of the defendants in the lawsuit haven’t been revealed and the websites named in the suit can no longer be accessed, the usernames identified in the lawsuit (like “PurpleKissTwo”) indicate that at least some of the targets are Prince die hard fans.

Nigeria to spy and intercept text messages

Nigeria’s Federal Government has brought into action a draft bill that will allow the government to intercept and record electronic communications, and acquire internet usage data from internet service providers and mobile networks.

While the bill still needs to be passed into law, it will give the authorities the power to intercept personal email, text messages, instant messages, voice mails and multimedia messages – which they say will help with criminal investigations.

Under a subheading titled ‘Interception of electronic communications,’ section 22 of the bill says, “Where there are reasonable grounds to suspect that the content of any electronic communication is reasonably required for the purposes of a criminal investigation or proceedings, a judge may on the basis of information on oath:

Imo Government deports 84 Boko Haram suspects to Katsina



The National Film and Video Censors Board says it has confiscated pirated and uncensored badographic films valued at N2.5 million.In a statement issued by the acting Head, Corporate Affairs of the board, Mr Caesar Kagho in Abuja on Monday, the seizure was made possible through a raid carried out within Abuja metropolis.It said that the seizures were sequel to the board’s commitment of riding the Nigerian markets of unwholesome films.The statement further revealed that the films were illegal and was contributing negatively to the behavioural attitudes of youth in the society.

Latoya Ammons (pictured left) moved into a home with her mother and 3 children in Gary, Indiana in 2011 and started hearing footsteps in the basement. Over time, she and her children, aged 12, 9 and 8, became 'possessed'; their eyes would bulge, they'd shake and growl.

 A teenager burned to death in her car after crashing into a tree following a row with her boyfriend, an inquest has heard.

Lauren Jones died on the A42 near Horsham, West Sussex, minutes after sending a text message to a friend saying her Gareth Standing had 'got the major hump' with her after she left his house early to get her nails manicured.

A text message from Mr Standing saying 'hope your nails look nice', was found on the 19-year-old's phone just yards away from the car, the inquest heard.

The inquest in Crawley, West Sussex, heard how Miss Jones had been at her boyfriend's family home for his mother’s birthday celebration and had been planning a holiday with him.

Terrible: Car Incident & Explosion On 3rd Mainland bridge Involving 14-Seater Passenge (Vie*wers discretion)




News just reaching us is that there has been an incident and explosion that's left a 14-seater bus burning towards the end of Third Mainland bridge (Inward Iyana-Oworo). According to eye witnesses, the vehicle lost control because of overload, somersaulted and caught fire.

There have been a couple of injured passengers but thankfully no lost lives reported. The explosion has caused an awful traffic hold-up towards the end of the bridge. Residents around the scene can be seen  using water from the Lagoon in attempts to put out the fire and road safety officers have reportedly been sighted at the accident location.

Boko Haram launches assault, kills 22 worshippers in Adamawa state



Gunmen believed to be members of Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Sunday Jan. 26th launched a fatal attack on a Catholic church in Waga Chakawa village in Madagali Local Council Area in Adamawa State killing at least 22 people. The four-hour attack lasted from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. without resistance from security operatives.

Eye witnesses said two policemen and a security guard attached to the church were also killed during the attack.

There clearly was pandemonium last Thursday at Utako District of the FCT when a 27-year old man, Alhassan Musa, an indigene of Utako Village was gruesomely murdered by four teenage boys locally at about 7pm.  It had been gathered that the boys were in the habit of going to the school across the street to ra-pe young girls. So, once the report stumbled on the elders, the boys were called to the chief's palace and they were punished and the exact same boy who stabbed the victim came back again to the palace and told the elders that they have to also call the girls in the school and warn them or if not they'll not stop ra-ping them. The victim had tried to caution them that they'd no right to come to the city area and talk with the elders such disrespectful manner and that was when they told him he should watch his back and he could be dealt with.

After 15 long hours of interrogation, the Department of State Security Services has released ex-Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, from its custody in Abuja.
“Mallam El-Rufai will not be silenced. He will continue to do his patriotic duty of challenging INEC and the security agencies to guarantee the climate for free and fair elections in Nigeria by desisting from partisanship and the embrace of impunity.”

Tragedy: Mom was doing it with male friend while her kids died in hot car



 The mother of the two boys who died of hyperthermia has been arrested. Authorities say they found out she was having s-ex with her boyfriend while the kids were left alone for two hours with the heat on in the car. (The boys and their father pictured above) The story below...

A mother whose children died after she locked them in the car with a heater running, while she had se-x in another vehicle, is on trial for homicide.  Prosecutors say Heather Jensen, 25, carried out a "death sentence" against her two young sons when she locked then in the hot car, Fox 31 Denver reports.

The charges against Ms Jensen include criminally negligent homicide, child abuse resulting in death and false reporting.

Ukraine president, opposition agree to scrap anti-protest laws



Ukrainian president agrees to scrap anti-protest legislation that set off unrest. The statement came after a meeting between President Viktor Yanukovych and top opposition figures late Monday.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich and opposition leaders on Monday agreed to repeal some anti-protest laws at a special session of parliament aimed at defusing two months of unrest against Yanukovich's rule.
