Given the conducive business environment put in place by the Cross River State Government, Africa’s youngest billionaire, Ashish J. Thakkar has made known his intention to invest in Calabar.
Thakkar, who is president, Mara Group stated this while delivering a key note address at the 2013 edition of the Africa CEO Roundtable and Conference on Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (AR-CSR) at Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort, Calabar.
According to the Ugandan, the decision to establish his presence in Calabar was based on what he has seen and heard of Cross River, which remains a veritable place to invest.

Billionaire Couple Mysteriously Burn To Death In Onitsha



The commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State was thrown into heavy pandemonium on Saturday, when a billionaire couple, who just returned home from abroad, were consumed in an inferno that broke out in the commercial city.
The unfortunate incident occurred in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boniface Ndubuisi, a house that is located at number 2, Arinze Lane, off Okolo Street, American Quarters, Onitsha, Anambra State .
The couple who just returned from abroad were badly burnt, and were seen clung to each other in the bathroom of the building.

South African Billionaire Pledges Half His Wealth To The Poor



Henry T. Heald once said; “When lack of funds prevents hospitals from functioning efficiently and fully, private philanthropy of all kinds must help. The difference it makes in terms of human betterment represents the kind of happiness that money really can buy.”
This is why Patrice Motsepe, South Africa’s first and only black billionaire has announced he is giving away half his wealth to improve the lives of the poor.
The mining magnate said the money would be handled by the Motsepe Foundation to address education and health issues.

Aides of billionaire bizwoman, Folorunsho Alakija, In EFCC Custody for fraud




An aide of billionaire business woman, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, and six others have been arrested by EFCC for forgery, impersonation and stealing N3 million from Mrs Alakija's foundation, Rose of Sharon.

Vincent Ayewah (pictured above centre) conspired with six others to allegedly steal cheques and withdraw money meant for the beneficiaries of the Rose of Sharon Foundation. Mrs Alakija, who petitioned the EFCC, alleged that Vincent forged cheques of the foundation’s Stanbic IBTC Bank Account and got his sister Miss Florence Ayewah  (pictured above, right) and their friends to cash the forged cheques by presenting them with fake identity cards.
