Boko Haram killed 13,000 Nigerians In Five Years - President Goodluck Jonathan



President Goodluck Jonathan says the Boko Haram sect has murdered no fewer than 13,000 Nigerians. Describing the trend as “unacceptable,” he challenged the international community to put in more efforts to stop the global menace of terrorism. Speaking at a high level meeting of the United Nations Security Council in New York, United States of America, Jonathan said terrorism has had destructive effects on the country in the past five years.

Jonathan’s town boils as youths protest varsity admission quota





President Goodluck Jonathan’s hometown, Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was on Thursday thrown into chaos.  Aggrieved youths from the President’s community protested the alleged refusal of the Federal University, Otuoke, to employ and give out admission slots to indigenes of the community.

The protesting youths barricaded the entrance to the university.

The protest, which started at about 8am lasted many hours, leading to the closure of the entrance into temporary sites of the institution and the disruption of examinations for pioneer students and the 200-level students of the institution.....

No ambition is worth the blood of Nigerians –PRES. JONATHAN



ABUJA — President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, said that no Nigerian should kill or maim himself or herself because of his presumed 2015 second term ambition, saying that “any ambition I have at any time is not worth the blood of Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, President Jonathan has told the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur that he would require the support of every Nigerian, not only him (Tukur), to win the 2015 election if he would contest the election.
The President stated this at a meeting with Vice President Namadi Sambo, Tukur, and other members of the National Working Committee, NWC.

$250m bribery claim Denied: Lamido lied against me – President Goodluck Jonathan




President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday denied a claim by Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State he reported a portion minister who allegedly collected a $250m bribe from an oil company without the Pres Saying anything.on the information.

A source had on Friday quoted the governor, who is among the seven aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party governors, as making the claim in a interview with an Abuja-based radio station on Thursday.
Lamido was quoted as saying: 
“Do you know that recently a top minister received a $250 million (about 42.25 billion) bribe for himself… he (the minister) is in the cabinet; he's in this current regime; he knows and I know, and I told the President.”
