Ex-Miss Malaysia could get £500m payout in divorce
The case began at the High Court in London yesterday – and if successful, Pauline Chai could be entitled to up to half of her husband, Khoo Kay Peng’s, fortune.
Lawyers for Mr. Peng however argue that the case should be taking place in Malaysia.
But despite only living in the UK since October however, British law could side in favour of his wife.
66-year-old former Miss Malaysia Pauline Chai filed for divorce in February, just five months after moving to 1,000 acre 30-million-pound home in Hertfordshire.
The mother of five has been married to her husband, the 74-year-old Malaysian businessman Khoo Kay Peng, for 42 years, but now wants a divorce on the grounds of «unreasonable behavior».

Terrible: Nigerian Man To Be Hanged For Drug Trafficking in Malaysia
A Nigerian man was sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court here today after being found guilty oftrafficking in 1124.10gms of methamphetamine at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, two years ago.
Anoliefo Peter Ndubuisi, 36, committed the offence at the airport Customs inspection counter at 4pm on July 30, 2011. Justice Noor Azian Shaari in her judgement on Friday, said Anoliefo’s defence saying that he was not aware of the presence of the drugs inside the 13 bottles of hair cream he was asked to carry by a friend whom he knew for only two days, was not logical.
Deputy public prosecutor Aida Mastura Mohamed Aman called 16 witnesses at the prosecution hearing while counsel James George called only one witness during the defence’s trial.

Nigerians Arrested In Malaysia For Smuggling Cocaine Worth $7.1 Million Hidden In Coconut Milk Cans
Malaysian narcotics agents have foiled a Nigerian syndicate’s alleged bid to smuggle cocaine worth $7.1 million hidden in coconut milk cans, a top police official said Tuesday.
“International drug syndicates especially those led by Nigerian nationals have been found to be active in smuggling various types of drugs,” Noor Rashid Ibrahim, narcotics criminal investigation director said in a statement, Agence France Presse reports.
Acting on a tip-off from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, authorities found the drugs in a container at the country’s top port, Port Klang, he said. It had arrived on a ship from Guyana last Monday.
