The 90 awardees are distinguished members of staff of the health institution that have served the hospital for between 15 and 25 years.
Speaking during the long service award ceremony, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Munirah Jinadu, said the award day was in line with the federal public service mandate to recognise and honour workers who had put in over 15 years in service.
According to her, the duty of offering quality medical health care services to the public could not be achieved solely by the management team but collectively by all health workers.
She noted, “The importance of human resources in any organisation cannot be overemphasised because therein lies the mechanism for the growth and development of the organisation. This hospital is not an exception.
“We appreciate the commitment and dedication of our members of staff to their duty within the limited resources of the hospital. We promise to encourage and celebrate productivity, loyalty and dedication to duty.”
One of the awardees, Mr. Ebenezer Akande, while appreciating the management of the hospital for the recognition, noted that it was a positive response to their agitation for improved welfare scheme.
