We are still a young team – MosesSuper Eagles playmaker, Victor Moses praised the team’s achievement in the ongoing World Cup. After losing 2-0 to France yesterday he said,”I thought we did well today.
“We started very well. We were organised. We got a goal which would have given us more confidence but was disallowed.
Keshi: We didn’t play to lose
We were good individually. It will get better, we are still a young squad.”
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi believes the team did not deserve to lose to France in yesterday’s round of 16 match of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Speaking after the match which was played in Brasilia, Keshi said the Eagles were capable of facing any team in the world.
“We can compete with any team depending on the desire in the players.”
The coach who said he did not know whether he would continue as Super Eagles coach on return from Brazil foresaw a bright future for the team,
“There can be a lot of improvement. The players are still young. In the next two years, they will be a wonderful team.”
Keshi said he was proud of his boys despite the loss.
Yobo: It wasn’t our day
Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo is disgusted after scoring an own goal that gave France a 2-0 win over Nigeria in the round of 16 match of the FIFA World Cup yesterday.
In a post match interview, Yobo, who earned his 100th cap, said, “it’s not about 100 caps or the the landmark. It was our desire to qualify for the quarterfinals of this tournament. Unfortunately, it was not our day.
“I thought we played more today but it wasn’t just possible/ It was not our day.”
