The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, AIG Suleiman Abba, has revealed that the zone foiled an attempt by a terrorist sect to attack, Minna, Niger State. Abba, whose zone covers FCT, Niger and Kaduna States, stated this while giving an insight into the activities of the zone at the zonal headquarters in Abuja. The AIG said policemen in Niger State had intercepted and arrested members of a terrorist sect operating in Minna, adding that they were on their way to receive their operational items for an attack when there were apprehended. According to him, “We have arrested these.

He tasked them to invest the money they have received wisely, especially in the education of their children by ensuring that they deposit it in their bank accounts within six months of its issuance and warned them to be vigilante of fraudsters, who could come in any disguise. Cheques were also presented to four police officers, who sustained varying degrees of injury in the course of their duties. Eight newly promoted Chief Superintendents of Police, CSPs and Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs were also decorated by the AIG.
