President Jacob Zuma leads the main festivities at the Union Buildings, the seat of government in Pretoria, where generations of apartheid leaders penned many of the racial laws that South Africa's first black leader Nelson Mandela fought most of his life.
Lagos exemplary approach to food production
The recent disclosure by Lagos State government to expand its forays for enhanced agriculture productivity through the acquisition of farmland in Northern region of Nigeria for crop and livestock production is quite laudable and commendable. We recall that only recently the State acquired farmland in the States of Ogun and Osun as well as in the Federal Capital territory (FCT), Abuja for agricultural production. The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperative, Gbolahan Lawal made the disclosure while briefing the media on the activities of his ministry. He explained that the decision was reached owing to the shortage of arable land in Lagos State to boost food production.

APC members plan mass defection in Ogun, Oyo, Edo
Aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress are preparing to ditch the party, following disagreements over the recently concluded ward congresses.
It was learnt that the party’s chapters in Edo, Kaduna, Oyo and Ogun states appeared to be the worst hit, as members had inundated appeal committees with protests over the congresses.
SUNDAY PUNCH gathered in Abuja on Friday that members of the APC in the states were threatening to leave the party.....

Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa tells Pres.Jonathan to seek re-election
The Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa I, has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to get re-election even as he urged him not to be distracted by the wave of disturbances in areas of the country.
He assured the President that the spirit of the ancestors of the Benin kingdom would see him through.
The monarch's message was brought to the President by his first son, Ambassador Eheneden Erediuwa, who was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by the Chairman, Ocean Marine Tankers Limited, Capt. Hosa Okunbo.

Dozens killed as Boko Haram attacks military base
Again, Boko Haram insurgents have attacked a military unit at Blabili, Danboa, Borno State, in the early hours of Friday.
The latest attack came on the heels of the recent abduction of more than 100 female students in Chibok locality of the state.
Not less than 40 insurgents and four soldiers were killed in the gunfight.
Investigations revealed that the Special Forces recovered several arms and ammunition from the insurgents in the battle.

Police retrieve 2-yr-old boy's severed head in IB
The Ogun state Police command has recovered the head of the 2 year old boy that has been killed on April 16 by suspected ritualist, Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim. Mamodu had r*ped the small boy's mother at uncompleted building at Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode local government part of Ogun State before killing and beheading the boy. The person was later arrested by men of the Criminal Investigation Department on April 22, he took law enforcement team to where he hid the small boy's severed head.

If UN ignores many violation of international laws by US/EU, why they are quick to react to Russia with false charges that they invaded, annex, raided? Is it not clear that they are controlled by US/EU?
