US gov't debates drone strike against American: to kill or not to kill?



The US government is debating whether to kill an American citizen abroad who is allegedly part of the alleged al-Qaeda network and plotting attacks against the United States, media reported Monday. President Barack Obama's administration is weighing the possible drone strike against the American who is in a country that refuses to allow US military action on its soil.

The identity of the American al-Qaeda militant and his location remain secret, as officials fear revealing that information would lead him to go deeper into hiding and derail a potential drone missile strike, CNN television reported, citing an unnamed US official.

According to Crime Reports, the female corper disciplined about six students, among whom was one Esther Oyeleke, a 14-year-old girl in JSS1. The corper reportedly gave the six students two strokes of cane each on January 24 for playing during teaching period and for not responding when she asked their colleagues to call them.

Surprisingly, the parents of the girl brought her back to the school on January 27 and said the hand on which she was beaten was swollen. With the belief that two strokes of cane could not cause such an injury, the parents were advised to take the girl to the hospital for medical treatment.

Niger Delta ex-militant leader, Mujarhedeen Asari-Dokubo, has given what he calls his conditions for peace as the race for the 2015 presidential election enters its critical stage.

After his invitation last Thursday by the SSS over his inflammatory remarks on the 2015 presidential election, Asari-Dokubo insisted that he would only maintain the peace on the condition that the federal authorities call the leaders of the main opposition party, All Progressive Congress, APC, to order.
 “For me as a person, nobody can take my right to talk from me. But I have assured the SSS that if the other side (opposition) maintains decorum, we too will maintain decorum. If they don’t, we too will not. We must all be treated equally.

Kehinde Williams, a 12- year old pupil was alleged molested by four men who are her father's tenants and now she is pregnant.

Kehinde was molested repeatedly at different times mostly on her mother’s bed by Shaibu Isiaka, 29; John Obah, 30; Vincent 28, who are now in police custody while the remaining one identified as Idris, is currently on the run.

This abuse has been going on and would have gone unnoticed if Kehinde hadn't gotten pregnant.

 Throughout the other day, students of Baptist High School in Iwo, Osun State, protested the wearing of  Hijab by Muslim students to their school. On Wednesday and Thursday the other day, the Christian students of the institution came within their choir robes, white garments, some in Masquerade attires, while others came in fetish looking apparel, registering their disapproval of the newly introduced school uniform policy by Osun State government allowing Muslim students to wear Hijab to Christian mission public schools. Aregbesola, Omisore attend vigil over Osun gov poll



Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, and Senator Iyiola Omisore on Saturday night stormed a popular prayer mountain at Otan Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the state to offer prayers to God.  The governor is a devout Muslim while Omisore is a Catholic. But both of them went to the prayer mountain, known as Oke Maria, for the annual pilgrimage and to pray to God to grant their desires.
Omisore attended the vigil after he had declared his governorship ambition at a well-attended ceremony in Osogbo where he levelled allegations of financial impropriety against Aregbesola.

Obama eases immigration rule in US for terrorist supporters



The Obama administration has eased the rules for would-be asylum-seekers, refugees and others who hope to come to the US or stay here and who gave "limited" support to terrorists or terrorist groups.

The change is one of President Barack Obama's first actions on immigration since he pledged during his state of the Union address to use more executive directives.  The department of homeland security and the state department now say that people considered to have provided "limited material support" to terrorists or terrorist groups are no longer automatically barred from the US.

Swiss voters on Sunday backed proposals to reintroduce immigration quotas with the European Union, Swiss television reported - a result that calls into question bilateral accords with the EU and could irk multinational companies. Some 50.3 percent backed the "Stop mass immigration" initiative. The outcome obliges the government to turn the initiative into law withing three years. 

While neutral Switzerland is not a member of the EU, its immigration policy is based on free movement of citizens to and from the EU, with some exceptions, as well as allowing in a restricted number of non-EU citizens.
That pact on free movement of people, which came into force 12 years ago, was signed as part of a package of agreements with the EU, some of which could now be in danger of unravelling, to say nothing of the effect on a globally oriented economy that employs large numbers of foreign professionals.
