Man beats orphan to death over Christmas rice.
The Ogun State Police Command said, yesterday, that it had arrested a man, Kayode Olubunmi,37, for allegedly killing his cousin,Haruna Adeoye,20, over a bowl of Christmas rice. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement sent to newsmen in Abeokuta.Adejobi explained that the tragic incident occurred on the Christmas day at Ajegunle, Ita-Oluwo, Ogijo in Sagamu local government area of Ogun State at 10:30pm.

Myanmar on Friday freed about 2,000
inmates, including at least three political prisoners, to mark its
Independence Day, officials and activists said.
"More
than 2,000 prisoners were released today with 1,800 from Insein Prison
in Yangon and another 230 from Mandalay prison," said Hla Maung Shwe, an
adviser to President Thein Sein.
The
presidential amnesty was granted to commemorate Independence Day on
Saturday. Myanmar, formerly called Burma, was granted independence from
Britain on January 4, 1948.

Facebook spying on private messages, selling them to advertisers - lawsuit
A federal lawsuit has been filed earlier this week accusing the world’s biggest social networking site, Facebook, of examining its users’ private messages contents "for purposes unrelated to the facilitation of message transmission".
Two
plaintiffs are seeking a class action suit on behalf of all Facebook
users who have sent or received a private message in the past two years
that contained links.
