Archbishop Sold Invisible Land for ₦7 Million in Lagos.



A self-acclaimed archbishop, John Okeke, 59, was, Tuesday, brought before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere for allegedly selling a land worth N7 million belonging to someone else.
Okeke, founder of God’s Pentecostal Ministry World Wide, Iba, Lagos was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a nine-count bordering on stealing, forgery and impersonation.
At the resumed hearing, EFCC counsel, A.M. Ocholi, told the court that the trial could not go on due to absence of a witness (one Nurudeen Bello) who took his two-month-old baby to the hospital following complications.

ASUU Strike update: FG extends resumption deadline for lecturers to 9th of Dec.



As a sign of regard to the late Prof Festus Iyayi, previous leader of ASUU, whose funeral rites starts tomorrow to Lay December 7th, the Federal Govt has chose to change its deadline for resumption of lecturers to Monday December 9.This was made known by the Government Secreatry of the Nigerian College Commision, Prof Julius Okojie while addressing  journalist in Abuja yesterday.

Paul Walker's cause of death exposed; he burned to death



The L.A County Coroners Office have revealed how Paul walker died. They say he was mortally wounded in the crash on Saturday November 30th, but was still alive. According to the report, he was burned alive. And the only way they could positively identify him was through dental records. This is such a horrible way to die. It's also been revealed that his friend was driving 90mph in a 15mph zone

Paul did not die from the impact of the crash alone. He burned to death after the Porsche GT crashed into a tree and a pole and exploded into flames. The man who was driving the Porsche GT, Roger Rodas, died from multiple traumatic injuries suffered upon impact. Burning was not listed as a factor in his death. Sources in the coroner's office say both men were positively ID'd by using dental records.

OMG!! Weirdo In Ekiti: Man Defiles 3-Yr-Old Girl



A man, Usman Joshua, 19, has been arrested by the police in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl (name withheld).
It was reported that Joshua, who is a co-tenant with the toddler's parents, had lured the girl into his room with biscuit at about 5:05 pm on November 3, 2013.

Photographs: Authorities Reveal Yet another Baby Factory In Imo! Rescues 16 Pregnant Adolescent Women




The Police Command again has uncovered another baby-making factory in Egbu, near Owerri the State capital, arresting the proprietor, one Dr. James Ezuma who runs a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and a clinic. 16 girls were rescued in the process. The girls were kept in two rooms in the building that houses his NGO, with no windows while repulsive odour oozed out from their rooms
The girls, aged 14-19 were encouraged to get pregnant and take home the sum of N100,000 at delivery, on the condition  that they would abandon their babies who would be eventually used for purposes ranging from child trafficking to rituals.

Person found stabbed to death days after posting FB caution about her ex



5 days after posting the message above on her behalf Facebook page, Michelle Rowling was found stabbed to death in her apartment. Michelle posted this on Monday November 25th and was found stabbed multiple times on Saturday November 30th.

According to NYDaily News, police are searching for Michelle's ex-boyfriend, 25 year old Montrell Cooper (pictured above), who threatened to kill her once he gets out of jail. Montrell was arrested and locked up for assaulting Michelle in August. He also stabbed her in the neck in 2012.

Now in the event that you read Michelle's responses to friends on that same post, she explained that she made the statement as a result of some bad news she received. Friends later revealed that the afternoon of the ominous post, Michelle had learned that her ex-boyfriend had been released from jail.  See the Facebook post and her replies after the break

Against a wave of social unrest in Kiev the cost of default isurance on Ukrainian national debt has significantly grown. According to Bloomberg, default swaps on Ukrainian government securities in the next five years have risen by 100 points reaching 1071.

#ASUU Update: FG reveals it has now paid ₦200 Billion to ASUU

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe has confirmed that the N200 billion demanded by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been paid.
The money was paid into an account with the CBN and is meant for renewal of infrastructure facilities in public universities in the country, Okupe explained.

ASUU: We are not aware of any N200 billion



The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Dr. Nasir Fagge Issa, this morning disclosed that his union was not aware of the payment of N200b into an account with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, by the Federal Government, as demanded by the striking lecturers. 


Dr. Doyin Okupe, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs had on a television programme this morning declared that government had paid the N200b demanded by ASUU into an account with the CBN and asked why ASUU has not deemed it fit to call off the six-month old strike.

Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) sacks all academic staff



For failure to come back to classrooms, the Senate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has sacked all academic staff on its payroll with immediate effect. The sack order was made known by the Public Relations Officers (PRO) of the institution, Mr Chike Ezenwa, while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri, through telephone.

In accordance with him, the senate of the university had declared most of the positions of academic staff in the institution, adding that they would be advertised beginning Monday, December 2.

The senate council, he explained, had already compiled the set of vacant positions in the college, adding that who were ready to resume would be adequately protected..

Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki Resumes Academic Activities




One day before the FG's ultimatum to ASUU expires, academic activities have resumed at the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki

Recommencement of activities have followed a directive requesting the lecturers to the return to work issued the authorities of the university. Lecturers of the university as members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had participated in the strike.

ASUU: University of Port Harcourt To Resume Activities, Date Announced



Management of the University of Port Harcourt has announced December 9th as resumption date for academic activities in the institution.  It was made known after an extra-ordinary Senate meeting held on Tuesday.

Deputy Registrar, Information, of the University, Dr. William Wordi told DailyPost that the management of the institution found it reasonable to end the 5-month old strike in the interest of the students.
