Ojukwu’s Spirit Resurrects In Awka As APGA Holds Remembrance Rally

Though in crisis, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) at the weekend sent out a signal that it might not have died after all as believed by many, when most of its members forgot their differences and gathered at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square for a rally in remembrance of the one year burial of the leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
The remembrance rally, which was also attended by the Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and widow of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Bianca Ojukwu, also witnessed the declaration of former Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) House of Representatives candidate for Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Chief Dozie Nwankwo, for APGA.

Mother Kills Daughter, Claims She Is Possessed By Evil Spirit

A mother from Annapolis, Md, Chelsea Booth, 25, confessed to police that she killed her 2-year-old daughter, Kassidey, and then placed the toddler’s body out with the trash. Police recovered the child’s body Thursday night after sifting through from more than 95 tons of garbage sitting in rail cars awaiting delivery to an out of state landfill.
Booth said that she killed her daughter because the child was possessed.
She told the authorities that her daughter "was suffering from a 'Muslim Curse' placed on her by [the father]" and that "she believed Kassidey to be possessed by an evil spirit."

Madiba: His Spirit And Sparkle Is Fading – Wife

As South African military doctors continue Nelson Mandela’s treatment for a recurring lung infection – an ailment the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader remains susceptible to because of his age and his 27 years incarceration ordeal, his wife, Graca Machel, has revealed that she is losing hope as the icon battles the infection. She gave the indication while speaking to a local television station. Machel said it was painful to see her husband “ageing”. “I mean, this spirit and this sparkle, you see that somehow it’s fading,” she told ENews Central Africa. “To see him ageing, it’s something also which pains you … You understand and you know it has to happen.” Mandela’s grand-daughter Ndileka told the same TV network that he had come to accept his condition. “I think he takes it in his stride, he has come to accept that it’s part of growing old, and it’s part of humanity as such,” she said. “At some point you will depend on someone else, he has come to embrace it.”

City players lacked spirit against Ajax – Mancini

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini feels his team still have much to learn at Champions League level after admitting their latest performance lacked spirit.
The Premier League champions now face a huge task to reach the knockout stages for the first time after slumping to a disappointing 3-1 loss to Ajax in Amsterdam.
The result leaves them bottom of Group D with just one point halfway through the programme.
