Al- Makura appears before panel, dismisses allegations




Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has dismissed as spurious and unfounded the 16-count allegations of misconduct levelled against him by the state House of Assembly.
His lawyers also urged the panel to “enter a notice of dismissal of the impeachment notice served on the governor for wants of proof” of the allegations.

New head of European conservatives dismisses UK Cameron's demands



The new head of the biggest group of conservatives in the European Parliament dismissed on Saturday demands by British Prime Minister David Cameron to put the brakes on European integration.

Manfred Weber, the new chairman of the European People's Party (EPP), also told a German paper that the group still backed its candidate Jean-Claude Juncker to be the next Commission president despite opposition from Britain.

MEND’s Jomo Gbomo Dismisses Alleged Threat Letter… To Issue Formal Statement On Okah, Others Trial S




In apparent reaction to the threat letter purportedly signed by one  Comrade Azizi on behalf of Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, Jomo Gbomo, who is recognized in media circles as the spokesman for MEND, has dismissed Comrade Azazi as an impostor and disassociated his group from the statements allegedly credited to it.

An Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday dismissed a suit in which the indigenes of Bakassi asked for an order to compel the Federal Government to repossess the Bakassi Peninsula and nullify the Green Tree Agreement it entered with Cameroon.


The International Court of Justice, in a judgment on October 10, 2002, ceded the oil rich Peninsula to Cameroon.
