Jungle Justice: Brazilian Referee Beheaded by Fans for Killing Player

There were absolutely horrific scenes at an amateur football match in Brazil when spectators lynched a referee and put his head on a stake after he had killed a player.  The barely believable incident happened in Maranhao, Brazil, last Sunday.  According to reports in Brazil, referee Otavio Jordao da Silva (20) fatally stabbed footballer Josenir dos Santos Abreu (30) during a heated moment of a match, reports Eurosport.

Santos Abreu is believed to have argued and then struck the referee after being unhappy with a decision.  It is believed the referee was carrying a knife throughout the match and fatally stabbed the player in retaliation.
Santos Abreu was rushed to hospital but died from injuries on the way.

NewCastle Player Tiote arrested for alleged fraud

Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has had his car seized by police after he was arrested on suspicion of fraud.

The 26-year-old was stopped on Tuesday near the club’s training ground on suspicion of fraud in relation to driving offences.Following this, Tiote’s car – a Chevrolet Camaro estimated to be worth around £75,000 – was seized.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “At about 1.30pm on February 12, a car was stopped on Benton Park Road, Newcastle, and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of fraud in relation to driving offences.”

The Ivory Coast international, who recently returned from the African Cup of Nations, signed from Dutch side FC Twente in 2010.

Police said inquiries are ongoing.

We learned that a former 49ers and Raiders offensive lineman named Kwame Harris is accused of beating his ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of a Menlo Park restaurant after an argument over soy sauce.

Kwame, 30, faces nine years in jail for felony domestic violence and assault causing great bodily injury.

So how did it all POP OFF. Well on August 21 Kwame and ex-boyfriend Dimitri Geier were having dinner at Su Hong restaurant in Menlo Park. The former lovers began to argue after Dimitri poured soy sauce on Kwame's rice. The two started arguing in the restaurant - and continued into the parking lot.

Kansas City Chiefs American football player Jovan Belcher has killed himself outside the team's main stadium. Police said the 25-year-old first-team linebacker shot his girlfriend dead a few miles away, before driving to a training facility at Arrowhead Stadium. He then shot himself in the car park in front of team officials. The club confirmed the incident in a statement, adding:

A former Nigerian national basketball player was shot dead in a botched burglary in Texas before Thanksgiving, it has been revealed. Chinedu Onyeuku, 29, was trying to break into a home in Plano on November 21 and was shot and killed by the homeowner, police say. Onyeuku had played for the Nigerian team that qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games in London.
