Sign translator at Nelson Mandela's Memorial Service, admitted to a psychiatric hospital - Media



The sign translator at Nelson Mandela's Memorial Service, who had been accused to be fake, and creating their own signs, has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital, local media report. 
 
Thamsanqa Jantjie's wife reportedly took him to a psychiatric hospital near Johannesburg for a check-up on Tuesday December 18th, and the doctors suggested that he be admitted immediately, Johannesburg's The Star newspaper reports.

Dignitaries from around the world have gathered in South Africa to bid a final farewell to Nelson Mandela at his state funeral. The Prince of Wales has joined some 4,000 people at the service for South Africa's first African president, along with Mr Mandela's family unit members, African leaders and several heads of state. It marks the finish of 1st week of memorial events for the anti-apartheid hero which may have attracted 1000s of South Africans and world leaders.

The body of late anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela this morning arrived South African government Union Building, Pretoria, where it'll lie in state for 3 days. The public, invited heads of states and international guests will be able to see his body from today till Friday. He will soon be buried in his home village of Qunu in Eastern Cape province on Sunday Dec. 15th.

Nigeria's former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has described the late Nelson Mandela as a man who raised the beacon of human struggle to lofty heights of nobility.
Obasanjo, who addressed journalists in his home in Abeokuta on Friday, said Mandela's life was an example of what people should all aspire for.

Former South African President Nelson Mandela passed away Thursday evening at the age of 95. While he was revered by politicians today as a human rights icon, Mandela remained on the U.S. terrorism watch list until 2008, when then-President George W. Bush signed a bill removing Mandela from it.
