Impeccable police officer source said that Promise the lawyer recruited associates of the gang who generally carried out various operations even though he remained on the side as the main receiver from the motor vehicles.
“Promise is a lawyer & also a auto supplier, who discounts only stolen cars. He doesn’t go for most operations but he was the main receiver of your stolen autos. He recruited a lot of them and purchased the motor vehicles cheaply from the crew ,” the police base explained. Most of the stolen cars had been bought in Onitsha, Anambra Think. If the crack crew of FCT Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) entered Promise’s home in Gwagalada, he fled but was afterwards apprehended in Lugbe, FCT Abuja.
The (DCP) Deputy Commissioner of Police, Alhaji A Usman advised Crimewatch that after they attained grievances & petitions from victims he rapidly ordered the officer answerable for Special Anti-Robbery Squad , Commander, Supol Igweh (CSP) & his staff to bring action . He claimed this was following Barrister Promise’s gang snatched a Sport Utility Car in Port-Harcourt, robbed the owner & took the stolen SUV to Abuja & parked it at Promise’s property. Usman stated this same armed gang robbed a young woman lady in Port-Harcourt as she was about taking her beautiful daughter to school & snatched the car & parked it at their gang-chief’s compound.
Commissioner of Police (CP), Adenrele Shinaba, informed Crimewatch about the victim said was lucky simply because he had a tracking device which helped SARS operatives to quikcly track the SUV and right after conversation aided by the gang leader, he ran away from his home in Gwagalada. The police from SARS went & locked up his property. He mentioned he was afterwards arrested in the FCT Lugbe, Abuja. CP Shinaba said that when Promise was apprehended, “we arrested a lady merely named Amarachi, lover of one of the key members of the gang.

“I'm a lawyer I went to Abia State Uni. I graduated in 1999 & I went to Legislation Faculty in the year 2000 & when I came back, I began practising in FCT Abuja.” CP Shinaba extra that Promise together with his gang took the SARS to a number of states which includes Nasarawa, Ogun, Kaduna & Edo to recuperate the cars for instance Toyota Hilux Reg, Inifinity Jeep Reg. No. SN695KJA. No: SMK 680 AE, , Honda CRV Jeep 2007 Mode No. AL. 99ENG,Honda Pilot Jeep Pink Color & Toyota Camry Car or truck Reg. No BP 433 BRC. He mentioned some of the owners have come on the command to recognize their cars. Certainly one of them, explained that his auto was snatched . “But luckily, I've got the Tracing system & we tracked the auto via this SARS policemen apprehended the armed robbers & I'm in a 100% about to identify their faces,” he stated.
