Nigeria has the potentials to lead Africa if public office holders, politicians stop being selfish.– Goodluck Jonathan




President Goodluck Jonathan said yesterday that Nigeria has the potentials to lead Africa if public office holders, politicians and indeed, the citizenry, stop being selfish.

The President recalled his encounter with United States President Barack Obama when the latter revealed that about 25, 000 medical consultants work in the U.S., the number which the US leader said, was crucial to the American economy.

Goodluck Jonathan reveals Why Nigerian politics can’t produce a Mandela




President Goodluck Jonathan spoke yesterday of the virtues of a good politicians, saying intimidation and threats by some cannot make them great like like the late Nelson Mandela. He spoke while making a tribute to the late Nelson Mandela, the anti-apartheid and South African’s first black president, during the special inter-denominational memorial service held in his honour at the Aso Villa Chapel in the State House, Abuja.

Unlike Mandela, he pointed out, many politicians in Nigeria resort to intimidation, threats and show of force in their communication. According to him, it would be difficult for a politician to be truly great than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.

Jonathan flays World Bank's standing of Nigeria's business setting.



 FOR assessing Nigeria as one of the difficult destinations in the world to do business in 2013, by the World Bank, President Goodluck Jonathan has said the assessment is in bad faith and not correct because Nigeria’s business climate remains one of the best in the world as can be seen in the foreign direct investments (FDIs) that she attracts.

I do not care about criticisms - Pres Goodluck Jonathan



President Goodluck Jonathan has said that he is not bothered about negative comments some people make about him.  He said he is only concerned about how he will be remembered by present and future Nigerians after leaving office. Jonathan, who likened holding political offices to death, described the world as a stage where everybody must play his part.
