The suspect was arrested along the Ado-Odo-Owode road in Ogun State.
The Ogun Police Command said on Thursday that it arrested a 38-year-old man, Adelani Ayomide, for being in possession of a case containing 18 human skulls.
A statement by the command's spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, issued in Abeokuta said Mr. Ayomide was arrested on Thursday along the Ado-Odo-Owode road at about 6.48 a.m. throughout a routine police stop-and-search operation.
He explained that the case would be transferred in the command's headquarters in Abeokuta for further investigation.
Mr. Adejobi gave assurance that every person active in the crime could be arrested and arraigned after investigation.
