The British High Commission has said it is not compulsory for Nigerians have can a dollar account to be able to pay for UK visa. They said this in a statement by their Communications Manager, Mr. Wale Adebajo, on Tuesday.
The high commission said,
“The British High Commission want to clarify the issue of on-line visa payments, which has been already the main topic of news reports.
“Earlier this month, the UK introduced compulsory on-line payments for visas and announced that the expense of those visas would be denominated in US dollars. This is purely an accounting measure.
“As before, Nigerians with a Naira debit or bank card can pay for visas using their Naira account. Even though visa fee is going to be denominated in dollars, the payment is going to be deducted from their account in Naira. There is no need for anyone to really have a dollar account.”
