Russia will test-launch the newest RS-26  missile over the following several weeks. According to many US officials the missile will be able to defeat American defenses in Europe.

The RS-26 missile is likely to be deployed with multiple supersonic, maneuvering warheads which will be able to defeat US missile defenses in Europe, US officials told In the Ring.

Officials familiar with intelligence reports said the following test-firing of the RS-26 is expected in December.

In June, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin described it as a “missile defense killer” after having a successful test flight with dummy warheads.

The newest missile will undoubtedly be designed with three multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles, or MIRVs. What's new is that the warheads are super-high-speed vehicles capable of maneuvering from missile interceptors. The maneuvering warheads are thought advanced technology that will increase the precision targeting of the missile system.

The missile also reportedly will undoubtedly be designed with a high-performance fuel that boosts acceleration right after launch, an element useful for avoiding anti-missile interceptors. The US officials commented on the missile development after Russia's RIA Novosti news agency reported Oct. 3 that the following RS-26 test will undoubtedly be conducted before the end of the entire year from the Kapustin Yar test range.

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Damienn Pickert declined to discuss the RS-26, citing a policy of not discussing intelligence matters.
