An Arab suffering from a mental disorder reportedly murdered his father in Abu Dhabi, police said. According to Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Director of Criminal Investigation at Abu Dhabi Police, the suspect was caught soon after the murder. The Arab suspect who stabbed his father to death with a kitchen knife was transferred to a psychiatric clinic for diagnosis.
According to the forensics report, the 30-year-old suspect stabbed his 68-year-old father in the heart, at their Tourist Club area home. Evidence revealed that the Arab suspect showed signs of psychological and mental disturbance which turned him into a killer on the day of the incident, according to Borshid. His family has already taken him to a specialist and he has a medical file in several psychiatric clinics. [GN]
