Early Monday morning, Rick Ross' silver 2011 Rolls-Royce was the apparent target of a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to multiple reports.
Shots were fired at the artist's Rolls-Royce, causing the driver of the Ross' vehicle to make a turn and crash into an apartment complex, the Sun-Sentinel reported. "An unknown vehicle shot a couple of rounds," a police spokesman told the newspaper. "The [Rolls Royce] was not struck."
There were two people in Ross' vehicle -- the rapper and his girlfriend Shateria L. Moragne-el -- and the gunmen who targeted the rapper had left the scene before police arrived, authorities toldNBC Miami.
"[The occupants of Ross' vehicle], obviously, with everything that just took place, are fearful for their lives and their families lives," a police spokesperson told the NBC station initially, before the names of Ross and Moragne-el were revealed publicly.
Although Ross' Rolls-Royce went apparently unscathed, a nearby diner wasn't so lucky. The front windows of The Floridian diner and a local nail salon had been errantly hit with gunfire, though no one was harmed, according to the Miami Herald.
In December, the rapper canceled tour dates with Maybach Music Group, and reports surfaced saying that the dates were canceled due to threats from a street gang.
Early this year, Ross revealed the title for his sixth studio album, Mastermind.
