Ten more corpses have been recovered from the scenes of the communal clashes between Fulani herdsmen and the natives in two villages of Wase Local Government Area. It was gathered that the killing in Foron Hecrisis was due to misinformation.
According to the source, armed robbers stopped some people who were returning from a local market called Wadatan Kasuwaadding. The hoodlums did not only rob the Fulanis but even the natives who were equally returning.
The source disclosed that there was a resistance and the armed robbers killed two Fulanis, claiming that the victims were not killed by Taroh people.
National secretary of Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Sale Bayari, said the killing of the two Fulanis was not a case of armed robbery. He said the two Fulanis were in a convoy with Hausas and Jukuns going to Taraba State before they were attacked and killed.
According to him, there was a Taroh man who was killed and his corpse was discovered, but there was nothing to suggest that it was a Fulani herdsman that shot him.
In another development, the Fulani Ardo of Mangu in Mangu Local Ggovernment Area was alleged to be in police net for being in possession of five human heads.
Bayari, who reacted to the claim, said he was not aware of the development.
The state government, in a reaction to the killings, lamented the resurgence of violent attacks in some parts of the state at a time the state was enjoying relative peace.
A statement signed by the commissioner of Information and Communication, Pastor Abraham Yiljap, said these unprovoked attacks had resulted in the loss of lives and caused pains among the people.
According to the statement, the latest attacks in some parts of Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Wase local government areas appear deliberately aimed at plunging the state into larger and perpetual theatre of conflict.
The government urged the people to remain calm and avoid any form of panic, but cooperate with security agencies to restore lasting peace to the state.
