Adamawa Youth Group Calls On Ribadu To Join PDP, Contest Governorship By-Election

Adamawa youths under the banner of Concerned Youths for Good Governance, have called on the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and contest in the Adamawa State governorship by-election.

Ribadu is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress but is being courted by the ruling PDP in the state due to his soaring popularity. Speaking in an interactive session with stakeholders from 21 local government areas in the state in Yola, chairman of the group, Ibrahim Toungo said the former anti-graft czar has all it takes to win election on the platform of PDP.

He extolled the leadership qualities of Ribadu, saying his moral background achievements at the EFCC have convinced the youths that he is a selfless manager of people and resources as well as being a focused leader.
Decrying the level of infrastructural decay in the state in the last 15 years, Toungo noted that Adamawa youths decided to support Ribadu as the next governor for a common good.

He said the one-time presidential candidate is conversant with problems of the state and could chart the way forward by reviving the economy and ailing infrastructure in the state.

The CYGG leader said with the popularity of the PDP in Adamawa, fielding Nuhu Ribadu as the party’s candidate will be an added advantage that could guarantee the party’s victory in 2015, adding that “in Nigeria, the PDP remains the only platform that can guarantee electoral victory because of its teeming supporters. Our research and finding revealed that the PDP is well rooted with seventy percentage (70%) support base in the State (Adamawa)”.
