2 soldiers, 12 others die in Taraba clashes




The Police in Jalingo, Taraba State, have confirmed the death of 14 persons, including two soldiers, in a renewed violence at Ibi, headquarters of Ibi Local Government Area, on Thursday morning.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the stare, Mr Joseph Kwaji, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jalingo on Friday that no fewer than 14 houses were razed.
The police spokesman said 14 suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.
He disclosed that two AK 47 rifles and several other dangerous weapons were recovered from them.
He, 
however, said normalcy had returned to the area after a detachment of riot policemen and military were deployed to maintain the peace. Kwaji said investigation into the cause of the crisis had begun.
