Post Of The Day: Gullible Nigerian Youths who are supporting the US, Britain and France to tackle Russia over Ukraine.

To the gullible Yoruba Youths who are supporting the US, Britain and France to tackle Russia over Ukraine, you have to first understand world politics.

The West is far too ready to judge President Putin by old Cold War stereotypes. The true picture is that US, Britain and France are criminals.

Ukraine lurched towards break-up today as Crimea launched a 10-day countdown to a referendum on joining Russia. This came after Crimea regional parliament declared its desire to split from Ukraine and become part of Russian Federation.

The US, Britain and France called this unacceptable. But in 2012 when the government and people Argentina challenged Britain over the ownership of Falkland, an Islands just 10 minutes away from Argentina but 10-hour from Britain, the British government demanded for a referendum.

On Tuesday 12th June 2012 the Falkland Islands Government, an Overseas Territory of Britain, announced its intention to hold a referendum, in order to enable Falkland Islanders to express their view on the political status of the Falkland Islands.

A referendum on political status was held in the Falkland Islands on 10–11 March 2013. The Falkland Islanders were asked whether or not they supported the continuation of their status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom in view of Argentina's call for negotiations on the islands' sovereignty.

On a turnout of 92%, an overwhelming 99.8% voted to remain a British territory, with only three votes against. Had the islanders rejected the continuation of their current status, a second referendum on possible alternatives would have been held.

Brad Smith, the leader of the international observer group, announced that the referendum was free and fair and executed in accordance with international standards and international laws. Today, the Islands remains an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom.

Crimea call for Putin to take over their region is therefore legitimate. Crimea's parliament announcement that a popular referendum would be held on joining Russia on March 16, is the right thing to do. A 'yes' vote would clear the way for Russia to effectively annex Crimea, which has a 60 per cent ethnic-Russia population.

In the case of Yoruba, the so called most educated race in Africa, most of its youths lack qualitative education and see the US and Britain as superior beings to them. They lack the understanding to know that Southern Benin Republic and Eastern Togo are part of the Yorubaland, but balknanized by Britain, France, Germany and other European countries.
