Federal Government To Empower Six Million Youths




The Federal Government has expressed hopes to fully develop the capacity around six million Nigerian youths through Integrated Youth Empowerment Programme (IYEEP) launched with the Mara Foundation within 12 months.

In collaboration with Mara Foundation, FG said it hopes to lessen the amount of youth unemployment throughout the country.

Speaking on the programme, Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Youth Empowerment, Ambassador Obinna Adim explained that the partnership between the federal government and Mara Foundation was essentially to proffer a formidable base for youth empowerment in the united states, adding that the initiative aims to supply solutions for youth leadership and development.


“The mentorship programme will serve as a provider of non-formal education directed at bridging the gap between school and life after school, enhancing young people's potential for success by making them approach life as entrepreneurs,” Adim said.

Adim noted that the support services were anticipated to transform business ideas of entrepreneurs into profitable and thriving business entities that will employ other Nigerians and donate to local, state and national economies
