When the charge was read, the accused persons pleaded not guilty, prompting their lawyers, Eniola Ayenuberu and Etukwu Onah, counsel for the 1st and 2nd accused persons respectively, to move the motions for their bail.
Prosecution counsel Aso Larry Peters who did not oppose the motion for bail however asked the court to make the bail conditions such that the accused persons must attend their trial.

The judge also said the sureties must be residents of Abuja with proof of residency.
The accused persons' tango with the law began in January 2012 when a petition was written against them alleging their complicity in a forgery of land documents at Sabon Lugbe Layout, Abuja.
They were said to have placed an advertisement on the said land knowing that it had been duly allocated to one Mr. Gabriel Aduda Tanimu by the Abuja Metropolitan Area Council (AMAC).
AMAC confirmed that Lawal Jibril forged documents pertaining to the land which he claim was given to him to market by one Late Bala Muhammad in 2006.
The case has been adjourned to 10th, 16th and 18 April, 2013 for trial.
In another development, the arraignment of the Kano State Civil Service commissioner, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Gaya could not go today due to the absence of his co- accused, Okoli Christian in court.
