The leaders of Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Nicaragua congratulated Bolivian President Evo Morales with his re-election as the president, Bolivian information agency ABI reported Monday.
Uruguayan President Jose Mujica congratulated Morales from Montevideo in a telephone call, with Argentinian President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner also calling the Bolivian president and congratulating him personally and on behalf of all Argentinians.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated Morales on Twitter, while Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega called Morales' victory the continuation of the liberation of Latin America.
Earlier, thousands of the supporters of Morales have begun celebrations across the country ahead of the announcement of the official results of the elections.

Exit polls data showed that 61 percent of voters were in favor of Morales. His main rivals, National Unity Front leader Samuel Doria Medina and former Bolivian president Jorge Quiroga, gained 24 percent and nine percent of votes respectively. On October 12, some 6.2 million Bolivians took to polling stations to elect a new president, a vice president, 130 members to the Chamber of Deputies and 36 senators.
